Wetherspoons selling off real ales at 99p/pint ahead of lockdown

Spiders after a few in the Polar Bear. Finish off with a calzone pizza then on to the casino where a mate worked the bar. Had some class nights out in Hull.

Aye plenty of different areas to go.Bev Road,Old town/Marina.

Forgot the name of some rough boozer in the city centre near the shopping center, may have been calles Coopers.Walked in and it was my round so went to the bar about 7pm to get the drinks in.Fat lass was sitting at a stool and some bloke was finger blasting her and the barman clocked my expression and said "It's her night off mate".

The George Hotel in the Land of Green Ginger was always an experience as well

While tempting, it's going to encourage people not to socially distance. What a great way to spread COVID-19.
They have blood on their hands already imo.
As the largest pub chain in Britain with as much footfall as all other pubs combined, for months and months they let people have free reign in their pubs:

No track and trace enforced
No enforcing of social distancing
No masks for staff
Happy to let groups of people come in and spread it round amongst themselves

Fuck them.

Just wish they'd not cheat the tax system, and then everything would be grand, aye.
I had a tv box with a week left on a 2 year warranty which stopped working, got in touch, full refund instantly. Other refunds with issues never any bother. It’s no wonder they are the fastest growing company in the world. Customer service is second to none.

Well Chis Martin is one of Boris's best buddy.

Yep, and people will be gutted when there's no indipendant shops left and all towns look exactly the same, and all our spending money goes into the accounts of multi millionaires, who won't be spending anything in our towns. I haven't used Amazon for a year now, always go direct to the sellers website. Try and use local butchers and bakers etc.. at least once a week. I spend money in my local as much as I can as I'd be devastated if it wasn't there . Fuck weatherspoons .
I agree, but do not think you can put wetherspoons in that bracket.

Anyone have a last night out for a while?

Nipped out at 7:30 for a couple of hours. Bit bizarre paying 50p a pint. It wasn't even that cheap when I first started going out in 1983.

Even if it wasn't Wetherspoons I'd still avoid that. It's not worth putting yourself and others at risk just for a cheap pint.

I wasn't planning on going out but got a text from a friend saying he was in the pub helping them to use up their beer so I had to go down to join in the effort. It was fairly busy for a Wednesday and they had to start turning people away as there were no free tables. By the end they only had Fosters left and I wouldn't drink that if it was free.

I still can't get used to last orders being called at 9:10 and being kicked out at 9:30.

Pubs can now sell alcohol for takeaway as long as it is pre-ordered

I seriously cannot see why anyone would want to order takeaway alcohol from a pub. Unless getting a carryout and you are heading home after being kicked out at closing time. When open that is...
