Wetherspoons selling off real ales at 99p/pint ahead of lockdown

Yep, and people will be gutted when there's no indipendant shops left and all towns look exactly the same, and all our spending money goes into the accounts of multi millionaires, who won't be spending anything in our towns. I haven't used Amazon for a year now, always go direct to the sellers website. Try and use local butchers and bakers etc.. at least once a week. I spend money in my local as much as I can as I'd be devastated if it wasn't there . Fuck weatherspoons .
unfortunately you are in the minority and most people go for savings over loyalty.

I’d rather have money in my pocket than less. It’s not rocket science....
Are you ok? You seem to be at war with the world.
Needs to roll with it, you can’t beat the system.

It doesn't have to be a direct trade off like that though. Spending a little bit more money in local businesses stimulates the local economy, making it stronger, healthier and indirectly making the place you live better

Would you be happy to have no local pubs anymore ? No sense of history and cultire and community, but save £1 per pint, which probably accumulates to £40 per month at most. But all them pubs that have been part of the town's fabric for hundreds of years all gone. It's a shite seal. Fuck weatherspoons. Fuck McDonald's and Starbucks and Amazon and the lot of them. Tax dodging bastards

i've been down the kings weekly since the summer, for at least a couple on a sunday or friday tea time. its been really good to be honest, even with limited capacity

The real ale isn’t great in there, imo. Used to be absolute nectar. The young lass serving didn’t know what she was doing however she was very fit. Overall score 10/10, would recommend.

I don’t disagree with you at all but it’s the same with owt. If you can get something perceived to be the same for loads less, people lap it up. You need a fairly affluent area for independents to thrive, it’s like a vicious circle in sunderland, unfortunately.

I'm addicted to Amazon mind. Its not even the prices, its the convenience. One site for everything, one click and its here tomorrow, and if there's an issue, one click and I'm refunded.
Is there an alternative?

Every other employer told their staff to go and work elsewhere as they weren't going to get paid?

They made 100 million in profit last year, I don't think they would have struggled to stump up the cash to ensure their employees could pay their bills. It was a pathetic response from them no matter how you look at it, as evidenced by the backtracking.
but they have lost £105 million this year.

The ale went down hill a bit last year but it's been a spot on for ages now. Usually have White Rat on and it's kept perfectly

It's the SMB, people twist on 21.

I must admit I don’t think that incentivising people to socialise in pubs by having a fire sale is in the spirit of sorting the current issue out. There seems to be a growing minority of people who will actively engage in any anti government behaviour.
