Wetherspoons selling off real ales at 99p/pint ahead of lockdown

The West side of the town towards Harrogate and to the South West in Linton is all massive mansions like. It's a posh place to be fair, similar to Ponteland which if you went only to the town centre is nowt or something.

Wetherby · Wetherby, Vereinigtes Königreich - You don't get houses like than in Pallion.
You get big houses in every town and city in the country. Wetherby is a small market town with high house pricrs. It doesn't mean the locals are posh. I was talking about the centre anyway, which is where the Wetherspoon's will be. It's not being opened in Linton. So I'm not sure why anybody who doesn't live near it would complain.

Not many will have, but the local rag needed a story.

One nimby in a posh house is a story though. You'll get them everywhere. We don't want a Wetherspoon's that's for poor people type mentality. You get them everywhere, they'll never be seen in the town centre though.

Wetherspoons to sell 39 more pubs as sales slow and costs surge

The pub chain said the closing branches are ones near other Wetherspoons, and that it had also sold five other outlets. It warned of “substantially higher” costs for staff, food, and repairs as the cost of living crisis took its toll. Interest costs for the current financial year are also expected to be about £10m higher, it said.
I’m sure I read earlier it’s just 7 added to the 32 that were already up for sale.

The only time I ever saw my Dad absolutely mortal was when he had those after "enough" booze thinking they were orange juice.

ED: Sorry. the first time.
You really think your dad didn't think orange Reef was alcoholic? He just accidentally decided to have 4 or 5 fresh orange juices randomly at the end of a drinking session?

Actually, yes. He quite often switches to a soft drink when he feels he’s had enough, and he just pointed and said “one of them orange juices”

I'm sure they will survive.

He seems desperate for it to fail and people to lose their jobs.

Odd to say the least.
