Wetherspoons selling off real ales at 99p/pint ahead of lockdown

I fear drinking will become a weekend only activity in the UK in the near future. Lots of reasons, but here's just two of them. 1. A lot of poor people can't afford to drink in their local pub, and things look as though they are going to get worse for this group. 2. Those who are doing okay, are now living in houses that you don't really need to leave, 60 inch tvs , nice gardens complete with garden furniture, conservatories, firepits, bbqs, man caves etc, just buy the drink down the supermarket , take it home and lock the doors.

The dystopian future is here.

We said all this would happen

We were right all along
Tbh the ones I visit the service has been spot on. So were you, in reality.?

Il be popping into the one at Newcastle quayside this afternoon as I start a drinking session today. Il update on the service there which I anticipate to be flawless, as per.
About what exactly?
He’s full of shite man. How does he know if he’s never in the place, same as old dinosaur, assuming.
So basically you just have a problem with folk who drink there, which the majority will be working class folk who enjoy a few pints and some decent grub at good prices.

As I said, crikey.
Odd isn’t it.🤷

Nothing about the service in spoons?..

Indeed there isn’t, but there’s more to life than Sunderland.

Newcastle is a cracking day on the drink marra. Try and leave the house one day, you may find out.

That sounds a great way to live. Is that dystopian?

There's a lot of snobbery on this forum. Not so well off working class people are really despised by the new liberals breed

Great way to live , for the lucky ones, but yeah, I think its dystopian.

Did you go pre March 2020?

Ever? Yes. I used to like Spoons, but Martin's unethical treatment of smaller breweries and his staff, as well as his CONSTANT banging on about Brexit, "Dishi Rishi" and other such bollocks put me off the entire place.

If he takes a step back, I'd be inclined to give them my money again, but as long as he's at the helm, I won't go myself, but if I'm in a group I wouldn't kick off if the group wanted to go there.

I blame licensing laws, local village pubs for example always got the early trade before people went into town at weekends.

There was a shift a massive shift in youngens habits, that trade has been lost forever and it took it’s toll and most of the pubs have shut never to open again.

A lot of village pubs seem to be thriving provided they have food etc. Remember people in villages tend to be the more wealthy. The pubs that have died out tend to be those in less affluent areas imo

Like fuck

Pretending that the little shits who voted brexit and the people drinking in Wetherspoons were working class poor rather than fans of the racist lying tory Boris.

Love telling lies, the brexiteers

My brother and I love heading to weatherspoons for a breakfast. Neither of us wanted Brexit, and he is left wing.

Must be a proper head fuck for you that equation.
