Wetherspoons selling off real ales at 99p/pint ahead of lockdown

I think the bigger part of the problem is a large of chunk of society don't go to pubs anymore, times are changing. Most pubs are dead Sunday - Thursday and even Fridays and Saturdays they're dead until around 7pm, excluding people eating. It's no wonder prices are sky high.
I’d say there’s more people go out Saturday afternoons than they ever did.

Some people who drink real ale/craft ale or Small batch stuff accept that to get their chosen drink they are going to have to pay more.

Again, there are plenty other options if you are not happy to pay for the expensive stuff.

Just depends on the pub, two pints when out the other week in Sunderland ranged from £5.35 to £9.80.

Bog standard lagers are regularly priced at over a fiver in plenty places as well now.

Excellent news.

They’re investing in the business, if you see it as excellent news how do you feel about the pubs that cannot afford to do that?

I’m sure you’ll be laughing when they close.
Look at the bigger picture you might not be as pleased with yourself.

I haven’t, I cannot recall even seeing it.
If you ever see it give it a try, it's spot on.

The two I tried in bottles were made by Karlovacko and Tomislav - quite strong.

The draught one wasn't as strong - about the same as the standard lager but I can't remember the name. Might have been Ozujsko.

Good grief.

Another one who believed the false stories about the owner.

Imagine being pleased about a company that employs over 40 thousand is losing money.
His chickens have come home to roost, he wanted out of Europe and now he can’t find any hard working Europeans to staff his pub.

What a crying shame.

I couldn't give a toss about the future of Wetherspoons pubs as I never intend to cross the threshold of one of Tim Martin's pubs again.

Plenty of good pubs out there that will thrive.

Cannot fault any I had.
