Wetherspoons selling off real ales at 99p/pint ahead of lockdown

They'll still be comfortably cheaper than most other places.

If an extra 20p a pint is going to put people on the breadline then maybe they need to have a look at how many pints they are actually drinking and what their actual priorities are.

Drop in the ocean compared to the other price hikes that are happening at the minute.

I'm not a fan of Wetherspoons, but i'm not opposed to them either.

But when i have been in any recently, the choice of real ales seems to be less and the quality of them not good either.

My local stuck money on across the board.. 40p on bloody Guinness , bitburger and moretti... 20p on everything else . Guinness bust the £5 barrier to £5.20

Jesus that's getting worse. The bloke there is a nutcase believe his neighbours are all kicking off about it now.

Mind I'd take it over the other side of Blyth - Google Maps
There's a house on the corner of Balfour street that is boarded up when you're to the left of it. As you go past it the boards come off. Fastest renovation ever.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit round there, by far one of the worst areas in the North East. Causes so much bother locally aswell as the scratters cause bother all over Blyth Valley. Some old bloke got kidnapped (literally) by them recently, horrid story - https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...ner-22752036&usg=AOvVaw0t7ko5IbunoIUYbszLjFpA

That area has been the wild Wild West for at last 30 plus years and got even worse over that time. As the older generations moved out it got more and more feral.

Police are fully aware of what goes on but have less and less power to do anything. At one time they did fall down the stairs getting arrested but body cams came about.

Called into the spoons in Concord the other day for a coffee while the dog was at the groomers. Still £1 a pint in there for one of the real ales.
