Saw loads of comments on the match thread on there saying the ref was shite today, gave us everything, and that the tackle on Maja was criminal assault.

Not one mention of the blatant fkn elbow that nearly broke Pritchards face, or the two-footed lunge that nearly snapped Clarke's ankles, or Huggins getting ragdolled to the floor, or the obvious goal Jobe scored, or the 6 yellow cards they got for constant fouling.

Deluded nobs. Glad we slapped them.

.. The ref was shite for us certainly, so the chances are he was shite overall.. He didn't call the disallowed goal, that was the linesman..

Honestly, although I’d need to see it again, I don’t think the Ballard foul was too bad. Sure it was a foul & probably a yellow but no way a red. Didn’t look like either of his boots made contact with Maja. He miss timed it & sort of scissored Maja with his crotch coming into contact, no way would anyone try to do that deliberately. I was really surprised Maja had to go off.

If Maja had not been injured you don’t even remember that tackle that’s how innocuous it was, but you do remember the elbow.
The tackle was not at pace, the foot did not make contact.
Clarke has half a dozen tackles a game like that on him.
It was defo a booking as he fouled the man and got no where near ball and it was from behind.
I do think however looking at in slow motion VAR would have incorrectly sent him off.

My first and last on this.

Firstly you absolutely deserved it, us missing key players in Yokuslu, Phillips & Wallace and a half-fit BTA not being able to start, helped you.

The referee and "assistants" were awful, for both teams. Ballard & Furlong were both absolute nailed on red.

Classic championship game with one team turning up, the other not.

On that showing I don't think the current top 4 will be sweating much.

Onwards and hopefully upwards.

The End. ;)

Agree on the top 4 mind. Can’t see any of the chasing pack currently catching them. Long season and obviously that can change, but for me top 4 look nailed on.

5th & 6th all to play for! We’ve both got a good shout for the play offs
The voice of sanity prevails.

Aye. One used to get in my old east London local, the one you n Mrs force came once. When wba were playing midweek or weekend (not on tv)he’d sit at the quiet end of the bar listening with headphones on listening to some radio commentary getting all excited by himself. Jumping up and down and dancing around in delirium occasionally……….which was the cue for someone to quip ā€œLooks like they’ve got a cornerā€.
He just stopped coming in and no one knew why. Then we found out about the Albion pub down Shoreditch/Hackney/Hoxton way.
Ah those old days of being able to go out for drinks any night…

Hope you and the much better half are doing alright, hopefully catch you for a beer sometime in 2024

still cant believe Jobe was flagged offside, their number 4 was playing him on aby about 3 feet, not one west borm player appealed...its not even close

ref was shite and his assistants too, ballard was a red - jobe was a goal - roberts was a pen - Furlong was a red

Bloke does a baggies you tube blog, set off at 6.30 from the Hawthorns, had nowt but good things to say about us, game was even up until halftime, then we deserved to beat them with our second half performance

Very complimentary about the SOL, the fans & the North East in general.

Search baggies v Sunderland reaction & you should find it

Tackle on maja wouldn’t of happened if he seen the foul for the header in the first place

Both clubs will feel decisions didn’t go their way but that applies more so to us in this instance.

Amazing that the opposition's fans have a different opinion to ours.
Aren't we the same?
