West Brom Forum

Should have been a booking when ref played on for the second goal as Myanda was rugby tackled to the floor bursting through as Pritch sliped Neil in.

Linesman disallowed a clear goal on one of the worst offside decisions I have ever seen.

Think they have little to complain about.
It was Ekwah not Meyenda, I have no complaints about the ref , haven’t seen a replay yet but Phillips on sky and some of our fans on here saying Ballard tackle could have been red. He didn’t for the dive v Luke at the end either. The offside goal was the linesman from Newton Aycliffe not the ref.

Honestly, although I’d need to see it again, I don’t think the Ballard foul was too bad. Sure it was a foul & probably a yellow but no way a red. Didn’t look like either of his boots made contact with Maja. He miss timed it & sort of scissored Maja with his crotch coming into contact, no way would anyone try to do that deliberately. I was really surprised Maja had to go off.
He went off because he’s made of recycled glass .

Saw loads of comments on the match thread on there saying the ref was shite today, gave us everything, and that the tackle on Maja was criminal assault.

Not one mention of the blatant fkn elbow that nearly broke Pritchards face, or the two-footed lunge that nearly snapped Clarke's ankles, or Huggins getting ragdolled to the floor, or the obvious goal Jobe scored, or the 6 yellow cards they got for constant fouling.

Deluded nobs. Glad we slapped them.
What on earth? They're the most balanced fair enough fans I've ever come across, even on their message board

From my experience West Brom fans are decent.

Probably my favourite of the Midlands clubs. Their fans have always been canny in my experience, but it's natural for a messageboard to only highlight the injustices against your team.

A Sunderland player could pull out a machete and hack off an opposition players leg, and some people on here would still argue that "the ref bottled it" in sending the lad off.

Haway, we are not Saudi United

Didn't pick it up on TV coverage but before that Roberts chance when he went down. Clarke had the ball and was manhandled by two of their players trying to drag him down, ref played on which was the correct decision however I'm going to assume the ref didn't go back and book their players?

If Dribbling, Gibbering Morons, didn't miss the fact that the Dribbling, Gibbering Ref missed the assault on the Sunderland player two seconds earlier...

It wouldn't have been sending off, because there wouldn't have been a foul, because play would have stopped for a free kick to Sunderland...

It's quite simple. Plain as day.
I think you sit in front of me, if not, the lad said exactly the same at the time.

..and rightly so.

I like the baggies. Proper club and fans. They were well beaten yesterday though and it should probably have been 3-0 or 3-1 at best. Ballard tackle is more than balanced out by some of the fouls from them. Was it furlong leading with his arm to the back of Clarke’s head then the elbow on pritchard. Either could have been a red.

Ballard is class but for me that was a cowardly challenge on Maja and should have been red. The fact that he then went on to score the opening goal and be most peoples man of the match will have wound the WBA fans up, we would have been exactly the same. Baggies fans are fine, I remember them all staying and applauding us when crowned league champions under Peter Reid. They have always been fine whenever I have went to the Hawthorns as well.
I was trying to think when that happened, couldn't remember if it was reidy or McCarthy.

I have a lot of time for them not like Stoke

Had a check of their forum last night. They all seem decent and pretty much said we deserved the win

There were a few of those on Clarke. Pulling a player back is a yellow even when an advantage is played. That was another area where the ref was poor.

My first ever time I got into bother with the polis down at WBA

drunk & disorderly in a sports ground

under McCarthy got chucked out at half time
missed the winning goal too Steve Watson OG
