If only every, or even a few of our games were like that. Unfortunately, the vast majority have been nothing like, so I, like others, have been a bit disillusioned.

As I've said on PF many times this season, I understand the need for Pulis, especially this of all seasons, but as a paying "customer" there really is a ceiling of how much "Pulisball" a fan can take!

I dont get it. WBA are the team that are most like us in terms of players / managers they can attract, football they play, media coverage they get and yet every season they seem to stay in the league way before we do. We would be creaming ourselves if we had 35 points at this stage

Its weird. ;)

I know what you mean, and to some extent agree, and if you just look at our results, or are a fan who doesn't attend matches you would think...great!

However, if you still spend your hard earned on attending, the "style" does get you down (in my case anyway, I'm certainly not saying all Baggies feel the same as me).

Style over substance?....Personal preference really.

Do you think the teams below you are playing champagne football? It's a scrap at bottom end for clubs like West Brom, sunderland etc and by hook or by crook survival is pretty much the end game. Villa slated lamber for being dull and boring. I bet it's a helluva lot more dull and boring now.

would you rather play better and lose ?
Having lost 3 of your first 4 home games this season and drawn the other, you have lost only 2 of your last 10 home games winning 5 of them
19 points gained from your 14 at home in total

Like I've said it's weird, and what you have both said is spot on realistically.....especially in the modern game, so I cannot argue against either, it's just that as an attendee at The Hawthorns since 1969, and a lover of football, both watching and playing since that time, "Pulisball" is something that just doesn't sit right with me.....Yes it's winning I understand that......but at what cost?

I've seen pulis come up here with teams and stink the place out with his negative tactics but it's a means to an end. I've also seen his sides Stoke, palace and yourselves play some decent stuff at times as well. Our manager gets a similar bad press and I think it's harsh to be honest mate.
Are you telling me that pulis style is a downgrade on Pepe Mel? ;)

I know what you mean. The problem, i think this season, is that you dont have a player who can get you off the edge of your seat / do something special - like Lukaku did for you a couple of seasons back. Unfortunately Sess is past his best now and your best / most exciting player has hardly featured.
We are similar and have had to endure much the same, if not worse, since we sold Darren Bent

Our players are under more pressure than the West Brom players imo. Why? Because we attract crowds of over 40k. We effectively have a relegation threatened side playing in front of a top 4 support. It's such a strange situation, the mags have the same issue.

Exactly

WBA are long gone now.

Huge game against Palace.

Agreed! Having been at the Hawthorns today it's crystal clear we're in deep shit! At present a high tempo game like WBA played has us there for the taking, let's see how Big Sam approaches it. Cheers lads!
