Don't think I will ever go on the coach again. Probably drive down next time, not bothered about having a few pints. 5 and half hours to get down and 8 hours to get back.

Got on bus about 4.30, we left the car park at about 6.30.... slow traffic pretty much to milton Keynes.
Got into Sunderland about 1.30.

There was a kid at the back of the bus taking up two seats - he was that fat. And kept shouting 'h'way man... why arent we moving'.... the 20 or so rows of buses infront of us may have had something to do with it.[DOUBLEPOST=1393859778][/DOUBLEPOST]

Aye we'll do the same and stay over somewhere on the way back.

Not sure if it is related but I asked a steward or whatever they were outside the ground for directions to a ticket collection place before the game and was told they didn't know and nor would anyone else as it was their first day.
Possibly had similarly daft people directing the coaches.

total shit. 90 minutes to get out. Still nowhere near motorway

It was longer than that ! ...1 exit gate for over 100 coaches  ....made it worse when buses were pushing there way in, is that why one bus had its window out ?

And did everyone find there bus ? ....took a while to find ours, it was like in a bloody maze, next time we will "mark our spot"[DOUBLEPOST=1393866883][/DOUBLEPOST]
Proper lads fan obviously.[DOUBLEPOST=1393834422][/DOUBLEPOST]

The traffic management for the nations main sporting stadium is pathetic and is of third world status.
two hours to move less than one mile is a complete nonsense. It should be possible with police / traffic control to move 80 to 100 buses in less than one hour.
It is regularly done at SOL to move from 10 to 30 buses more than 4 miles to the A19.
Boris ya Blonde Buffoon Tory Berk get it sorted you useless southern son of a bitch

You're absolutely bang on there.

Much as I understand all the arguments for keeping it in London when they came to rebuild Wembley, from a cold functional perspective, it would have been far better to slap this on to the existing infrastructure of the NEC (1 hr 10 mins train to London, international airport 2 minutes away and at the intersection of the major motorway networks). Plus conveniently in the middle of the country so fairer travelling for teams from outside of London.

Birmingham and the regions would have benefitted as a result, and we start to pull away from the ridiculously London-centric setup for our country.

Some people in the coachpark were ridiculous! Saw this bloke get of his bus and stand in front of another so his bus could get past while the other had no option than to try and budge him out.

Out of the 3000 security staff on duty only about 100-200 would be permanent staff.

The rest are provide by numerous private security companies who's staff would be trained but as this is probably the biggest venue in England they will be forced to make up the numbers with students etc.
