it's like that for final games, I'm afraid. 3 year ago I went to Darlo v Mansfield FA Trophly Final with only 23/24k on a saturday there, but it still took an hour and half to get out of Wembley and anywhere near a main road. Bearing in mind yesterday was on a sunday as well, an FA Semi on a Saturday would be even worse especially if another big northern team get there.

It doesn't have to be though, when you come out its a one way road which forces you left. They can close that road and route the busses to the right but the council will make a charge and wembley won't pay it.

I was on one of the last two buses to leave because our driver's tryst with another buses driver left him watching as he fixed his smashed wing-mirror. Craic on the bus was great though, but after getting in at 1.30 and up at 5.30 to drive back to Glasgow I'm f***ing shattered.

Parked at Watford Junction, overground back there afterwards. Back on the A1, stopped for a burger, and still in Durham by 9.30. Feel sorry for the poor fuckers on the coaches.

Looks like it was the right move getting the train  Nee seat but the floor was comfy and East Coast put on Busses from Durham to Sunderland so we didn't have to faff on getting a taxi. Sounds like it was a nightmare for anyone on the coaches.
Yep. When I booked the train i thought I had cocked up and was expecting bother at the station. Turns out with open ticket we jumped and early train, got lucky with a seat and was back eating a Chinese take away in Whitley Bay by 9.15. (And a beer, the trains were as dry as the busses!)

Think the Wembley stewards didn't give a shite when it came to (lack of) managing the bus departures.

Then a rather surreal moment when three of the jokers decided to assist a car doing a three point turn (probably 33 by the it got turned around) between ours and two other coaches.

Back at 1.30 in Washington very similar experiences to the above compounded by a bunch of pissed young (15-17 year old) scrotes acting themselves. I got the bus as I thought I might have a few drinks down there. Had a couple of pints but seriously wasn't that bothered. With hindsight I should have been quicker on the trainline or skipped the pints, driven down and parked north of Wembley.

As shared with some posters above - never again. Longest 9 hours of my life.

I was back at Paddington within an hour, so early I paid extra for an early train ticket, back in Exeter at 20:30, would have been an hour earlier if I hadnt gone for a couple of pints

Our driver was grumbling a little but was generally solid. His £100 tip helped too.

Thought it would have improved since the play off final in 98. I actually think it was worse.

Nine hours sat on a bus going towards one exit, then another, then turning round again, freezing cold, no drink, no radio, no charging points was shite. Train or plane next time. Would probably even drive instead

Was on als coach 2, driver was decent, managed to surge through a gap between 2 buses with everyone roaring him on.

but he cocked up on the way back by stopping at the tiniest service station ever, with about 5 loos for hundreds of fans, a no brand burger bar and a starbucks with impossible waiting times,

we ran over to garage for food just before everyone else cottoned on, was a joke though, little kids crying, not enough loos.

cant understand why they didnt pull in at onr of the big services that have the adjoining tunnel to other side of road that could handle that amount of coaches
