With them columns underneath it, it looks like an old block of flats. Its a shame as they clearly set out to design/build something a bit different but unfortunately they fucked it up.

Interesting that - when they say by the end of the year - they don't say WHICH year it is before the end of.

How will the new building fit in with the huge skyscraper at the bottom of Park Lane? At least we'll have a nice new iconic bridge for people to drive across to reach this so they don't have to rely on the Alexandra and Wearmouth bridges.

Credit where its is due, well done. A hugely positive statement. Hopefully they can produce something definitive and projects a good image of sunderland.
