Well done France

Fair play, but the money has to come from somewhere?

If some government employee is getting a raise, then someone (non bureaucratic, non government employee) is getting more of their labor confiscated. Unless they live in the USA, whereupon the wealth just gets pulled out of thin air and the debt saddled to the next few generations, courtesy of short term borrowers.

The UNIVERSAL TRUTH is that wealth must be created before it can be taken.

I'm all for honest pay for good work... but the wealth has to come from somewhere.

In this country it could come in part from not awarding excessively lucrative contracts to the acquaintances of government ministers and advisors and holding a proper tender process for such things.

Very nice. But government ministers don't have money. They have Other Peoples Money. When has a farthing been raised from ministers and advisors?
of course.
Not like a french govt to surrender
Old joke. "Rifle. Never fired. Dropped once." Best rifle ever created. The M1 Garand. Still use it to this day for hunting deer up north. (Minnesota)

And iron sights. Can't improve on perfection. Actually too much firepower, the 30-06.

You have human decency unlike the scum that run our country. A pay rise for health workers!!

  1. France awards health workers pay rises worth €8bn (£7.2bn; $9bn) after a series of protests

ironically, Band 5 nurses on entry have went from £23,023 in 2018/19 to £24,907 in 2020/21.

a decent wedge in north east especially that is the basic and does not include enhancements for shift work etc.

probably come out with £30k after a couple of years.

not great in expensive parts of the country but a decent living uo here.

Only gave a pay rise after protests. Very decent of them.
Unlike our government who never back track

This has to be a wind up or from the gullible times newspaper.

It is a wind-up. Baffles me how this place has got to the size it has that we not only have WUMs, we have WUMs who specialise in very niche areas of wummery.

He’s either a real American who comes here to rant about guns and taxes and the public sector, or he’s someone pretending to be.

Madness.

Or you know, we could have done the following

- not fuck up a contract around Ferries and paid £33m to Eurotunnel in compensation
- not spent 900k painting a plane for our PM
- Not spaffed £50m up the wall on a vanity garden bridge

all public money? Right?

Not so sure these days. This country has a fair share of nut jobs and we seem to be turning in to the USA.

No, just the ordinary mad American. Lurks most days. Occasional comment.

Love me guns, though. If you ever want to off about them, let me know.
