Welbeck - the problem with loan signings.

Some great recent performances from Welbeck. Looks a star in the making and has been our best player since second half against Spurs. Bur therein lies the problem - hes not our player.

Theres no way SAF will let him come here. Meaning our position in the league is, to some degree, false. In the summer, Bruce is going to have to look to replace Welbeck and that will be a job in itself. All we will have gained is a short term filip to the club at the expense of potentially bedding in someone for the long term.
If Welbeck returns to United he will still have Rooney ( or his replacement ), Berbatov, Hernandez and macheda ahead of him.
He'll have got the taste of playing/starting every game in front of big crowds.
Yes manure are a big pull and SAF has all the credo, but it's by no means a foregone conclusion. Not to mention manure's parlous financial position.
I fully expect Manue to flog rooney for big wonga and bring in ( probably via swap and money ) Benzema and maybe the likes of Carroll.

Good English players fetch more money than good imports.

Therefore we'd have to pay more for Welbeck than a foreign player.
The big clubs, like Man Utd, have to consider Europe on an annual basis so need a contingent of 'home grown' players.

Hopefully we'll soon have the same problem, which is weird.
This is the first time, with Sunderland, I've seen the optimists getting away with mentioning the 'E' word without being mocked ;)
