Welbeck for Henderson

Right, Bruce wants Welbeck, Fergie has reportedly asked to be kept updated on Hendo. Could a swap deal be on the cards? Would you be happy with a swap?

To be honest, I think Henderson is a little overrated. His set pieces are usually poor, he doesn't score many, he can be sloppy at times. I think he could be replaced for less than it'd cost to buy another Welbeck. I'd be happy to take a swap.

I would want to see a lot more from Welbeck before deciding he is worth losing Henderson to sign. Welbeck has been class in his last 2 games, but thats all it is, 2 games, he might go on and not impress in his next 5. Anything like this should only, if at all, be considered at the end of the season. TBH if we think Welbeck is worth losing Henderson over, I dont think there is any chance united would let him go

To be fair he's been impressive since he got here, playing on the left wing.

The 2 games you refer to are since he's been moved up front, his position, and he has scored 3 goals.

i doubt it right now, henderson's value is going down and welbeck value is going up at the present time .... need henderson to pick up some form for it to be a likely option

He has done a job on the left wing, and fair play to him for that since he is being asked to play out of position, but he wasnt particularly impressive. Had we decided to spend fairly big money on him based solely on his left wing performances a lot of questions would have been asked

And yes, i am very well aware that his 2 games are when he has played up front, but if we sign him it will be as a striker as that is obviously his best position, and no way whatsoever would i want us to make a judgment on his suitability for a big money transfer based on 2 games in his best position, even with the 3 goals he scored and 2 good performances. If he keeps up this form, or near to it, for a fair part of the remainder of the season, then i would think about offering big money for him, but at the minute im just glad hes here on loan

Welbeck has given better performances than Henderson so far this season, who imo is more or less a weak link just now, not sure wheter he lacks the quality or just needs a rest or whatever. But we have Bent, Campbell, Gyan, up front, an excellent strike force, whereas our midfield is sub-standard.

If we are to sell Henderson we should do so with an eye to getting a good CM. No point in having great strikers if you can't give them the ball to score with.

Welbeck, Gibson, Evans for Henderson - why not

Gibson for Henderson would be excellent business. Now there's a real young midfielding talent. Fergie would have to have his arm twisted to a grotesque degree for him to go anywhere though, let alone for Henderson.

Aye, Welbeck has done a damn sight more than Henderson has this season. Would depend on the actual deal though.

You're missing his hidden qualities though mate, Henderson's I mean. So I've been told anyway. It doesn't matter that he doesn't obviously affect play or control a game, he plays in a way which is secretly brilliant and far more subtle than the boorish behaviour of a midfielder who scores goals and provides frequent assists, and only geniuses can understand it.

He's nothing other than an engine in central midfield imho, his long passing is questionable, he doesn't score, he rarely assists and isn't a particularly good tackler.

Good point

1 bad game and Henderson is shit. I love this board like

Apart from his moment of brilliance at Wigan and his decent pass to Gyan at Chelsea, what has he actually done?
