Weight loss jabs

How much will that be in total and percentage wise mate?

I thought you'd already shifted a load?!

Already down 4 stone but another one would put me into a reasonable BMI range (yes, I know BMI is mostly bollox but it's still a useful metric)

Peak lardiness was 250 pounds, lost about 10 by myself but very slowly with lots of ups and down but Mounjaro was the magic bullet and I'm now on 190 pounds. If I can get down to 175 pounds that would be a 30% loss.

It's incredible to think that I used to be carrying and extra 50-60 pounds. That's a suitcase or small child. No wonder I always had a bad back.

One thing I must hammer home is nutrition, walking and especially weights.

You need to sort all these out before you start th jabs. Weights is an absolute must
Who the manufacturer of your retatrutide pen? The two I’ve been offered only offer a minimum dose of 1mg, I would like to start lower and ramp up if I am honest.

Well done and good luck with the last slog!

Passed another little landmark today.

Starting weight was 221 lbs (100.2kg - 15st 11 lbs)

Current weight is now 179 lbs. Been on the starting dose of mounjaro (2.5mg) for 16 weeks.

Lost total: 42 lbs (3 stone).

My BMI is 25.8 so almost into the healthy range. I still want to lose another 11 lbs.

I have increased my excercise quite a bit since starting. I run 3x a week (Couch To 10K plan for a 10K I've signed up to in July). lift weights in the gym 2x a week. I play at least 1 round of golf a week, as well as 7 a side football on a weekend.

Suppression still probably feels a bit too high even on 2.5mg as I have to force myself to consume calories...I'm rarely ever hungry.

It's worked wonders for me. I currently take 2.5mg from a 5mg pen, so it's roughly costing me £70 a month to be on Mounjaro. I used to spend that a week on takeaways, which I've not had, or wanted since January.

I'm going to Benidorm on Saturday for 2 weeks, so it'll be interesting to see if I gain any weight. I'll still be jabbing whilst I'm there, I'm taking my pen in my case.

have you had any of the side effects on 2.5mg ?

A little bit of constipation, that's literally it. I used to be a two a day man, I'm now every other day. I'm never in any discomfort with it.

I do take a magnesium tablet on an evening to help me sleep. I've heard magnesium can help with stomach issues, but I can't say I've really had them as such.

yeah, I had nothing at 2.5mg. When I moved up to 5mg it was a torrid first month.

I had the whole range. Vomiting, diarrhoea , constipation. Took me a while to get in front of it. Anyway, no eating after 2-3pm on peak days after jab. Drink more water than a fish :)

I've heard a lot of people are similar. Part of the reason I've never wanted to move up, but then I've been really lucky and never had to.

I did lose like 16lbs in my first 2 weeks, so the other 26lbs came off in the last 14 weeks, which is around a healthy 1.8lbs a week loss. I do tend to go through bouts of plateau where I'll maintain for 2-3 weeks, but it eventually drops off without needing to adjust anything at all.

I think other people may have upped a dose in those plateau weeks I've had but I'm glad I stuck to it because it does eventually break.

I probably don't drink as much as I should, because similar to food, I don't get thirsty either, so I have to remind myself to drink.

I've pretty much cut out all carbs. I used to eat them to fill me up, but I get full without them being on the jab. I eat/drink a lot of protein and I've not noticed any muscle loss appearance wise, and I can lift more, so I don't think I've lost any muscle.

Do the online pharmacies not make you go backdown to 2.5mg if you’re only ordering every 8 weeks instead of 4? I thought that if you had a break they make you start back on the lowest dose and work up again

I'm 7 stone down on mounjaro now - can't financially afford to go higher than 10mg in terms of doses and I've had a hell of a stall on it (for a good couple of months) but seems to be shifting again now so I'm hoping it'll keep going down - if not, it's done the job of getting me to a point where I'm mobile and able to be more physically active which is what I went onto it for (my weight was at the point it was hitting mobility and activity which led to more weight which led to less mobility).

Life changing.
