Website - Asking for cash tips.

At the end of a purchase I was making (reputable website for motor cycle clothing) I was asked whether I wanted to give a tip. I was offered the option of paying an extra, I think, 5% 10% or 20% of my order.

Never come across this before, is it common practice?

Ordered something the other day for the car and that site was the same. First time I'd come across it also, obviously declined their option.

I've seen it where it's a voluntary charity donation but never a tip for the company itself.

Madness.
