We missed Altidore today

With him, 17 goals for, 8 goals against in 7 wins and 1 loss.
Without him, 2 goals for, 6 goals against in 1 win and 2 losses.

He's the best centre foward in the squad. Play Borini underneath him or on the left, but the squad is better with him than without.
:lol::lol:
He is comfortably the worst striker we have signed since Ji

Probably been done to death, but I was pretty surprised not to see the lumbering oaf in the 18 yesterday. Poyet done with him?

I suppose one minor difference here is that he is a poster on a messageboard whereas Jozy Altidore is an international striker who is paid tens of thousands of pounds every week to play football.
Is this joker for real!

Flumpty bore is a massive fraud. Should be locked up for fraud as he is paid thausands for claiming to be able to play football.
Its like a bloke stating he is a bricklayer built a house once somewere no one was watching and now employed by a respectable company his first wall is knocked down by a giaccarini shoulder charge.
The fucker would be peddled in a crack and would be bumped wages.
This clown will never make a footballer as long as av got a hole in me arse.

I'd say almost certainly not. If in fact he was injured yesterday:

United States international Altidore could have an immediate chance to stake his first team claims against the Humberside club he left in 2010 in tomorrow’s FA Cup quarter-final, with Poyet hoping his exclusion last weekend will act as a spur.

“His reaction was quiet,” said Poyet. “He was professional. It was probably a shock for him because he didn’t know it was going to happen and only he knows how he felt inside.

“I’ve no doubt he still has a part to play, but it’s going to be tough and it was hard on him. It wasn’t an easy option but I went with my decision, so let’s see how he reacts? I look forward to seeing what type of character he is? I’d like him to prove me wrong.”

This is Gus being a manager, trying everything to motivate a player who let the frustration of the season get to him. I'd say he plays against CP if healthy.

We were so shit I don't think Altidore would have made any difference what so ever.

He was ill anyways so he didn't have a chance of playing

I find it odd when you compare our strikers 1 for 1, it's the stupid simple reliance on only the goals they individually score instead of what they actually bring to the team. I'm not saying altidore is shit or amazing, but some people are just simply blind to the fact that there can be more to a striker than scoring goals themselves.

Correct there is more to a striker but the bottom line is 90percent of there game is goals. You can have minimal impact anywhere else on field but if you consistently put the ball in net nothing will be said. Quote darren bent

Also got to consider that unlike PDC, he's not thick as mince, and probably realises that bombing a player out altogether and openly saying so is going to fuck up his value in the transfer market...

he's better than Fletcher and Scocco (hopefully he will improve). Personally I'd like to have seen Wickham given a run of games but in his absence probably the best bet is Altidore up front and Scocco and Giacc on the bench. Ki pluse one other in mid with Bridcutt in front of the back 4 (I like Cattermole but he can't play there when he' on a yellow).

At least Altidore (usually) tries unlike Fletcher. Ideally Borini would be up front but with Giacc in the team we're too lightweight.

He was and either of them will take us down.
I'd pick Fletcher ahead of Altidore but only because he has looked a player in the past whereas Altidore never has.

Borini and AJ are our only hope though.

Fletcher is completely fucked though. People have had a go at him for not trying but the simple fact of the matter is that he's injured, and he should have had surgery months ago. He might have looked a player in the past but in the past he had two functioning lower limbs.
