We just dropped to 5th place....

We have slipped up badly in recent weeks. Umpteen opportunities to over take the likes of Luton and we’ve blown nearly them all.

I wonder how our game in hand or 3 will go?

This current fall was always on the cards. Play offs would be touch and go for safc.

Why are people obsessed with other teams games, just win our own and it will take care of itself. Other teams will slip up aswell as Portsmouth have proved in the last 2 games
Its not obsession its fact in what i say, why make it harder with having to accumulate more points?

The higher the position the greater the confidence. Easier to defend a top position than to reclaim lost ground. We must win games in hand and the current (and jubilant) teams above need to lose a few points. It’s not going to be as easy to climb to automatic promo position as some would believe. I’m reasonably sane and confident btw.
Good post mate

Unless we sign better players, that's unlikely

We've yet to hit form and a few teams have yet to have a wobble, by the time the season closes we'll be top.

Would rather just look at things in a positive light than negative and our squad is as good as any in this league if not better when the new signings come in

Because if we win our games we will be promoted, we weren’t playing 2day so I didn’t take any notice of the other results, other teams will win and lose games

Well, if there was any doubt in the minds of the manager/owners that we need a bit extra for this squad to hit automatic promotion losing Maja and dropping to 5th (albeit with games in hand) should do it.

I'd be very surprised if SD allowed us to end the window without strengthening significantly, especially after the comments he's made. Just got to wait for it to unfold.

Obviously slipping places isn't great but I do think this break came at a good time. Concentrate on sorting out transfers, give the players a break and chance to regroup, then come back refreshed and ready to go with some (on paper) winnable games.

This has been on the cards for a while. The season is rapidly running out of steam and someone ends to get it back on track

I couldn’t believe it when I heard that tony Davison had said how good it would be in the play offs from a financial point of view

The short sightedness is staggering. No way should we be aiming for the play offs as it is is a complete lottery

I didn't hear his comments in full but assume, and certainly hope, he was mentioning that as a silver lining from a commercial point of view rather than the preferred outcome.

If we got promoted via the play offs, with a sell out at home and 40k down in London for a game live on SKY, you can't argue that would have its benefits. I wonder if you make more cash from prize money for winning the league, or from the additional gate receipts and TV money. Obviously from a fan/football point of view I'd rather finish in the top two regardless as I'm not sure I can hack the stress of a play off.

Luton were there for the taking. After they went down to ten men, we should have stuffed them.

Wyke's header keeps playing on repeat in my bonce. Unbelievable that he missed it, easier to score.
