Relegation and increased debt is, by any standards, failure.
A cup final, survival & mag beating are highlights, no more.
Lots of crap decisions have been made, either by short, or by people appointed by short.
If he'd only been in charge 1 or 2 years then you could say, mitigating circumstances, give him time. But he's been here 8 years.
Even the worlds biggest optimist who might say "give him a few more years, he's still learning, he'll come good" -
even he would say these last 8 years have been a failure
We may have to agree to disagree, but thanks for the sensible reply.![]()
I can't understand how people think Short hasn't put is hand in his pocket. Sacking managers every season has meant the next one who came in only been worried about the short term and not whether they were signing players on daft wages. Hence the current predicament we're in.Point 1 - The people appointed by Short such as MON, Advacart, BSA and Moyes were pretty much universally welcomed by supporters so in fairness to Short he gave us what we wanted and then gave them free reign with a hell of a lot of money.
You could argue that when these football experts were waisting the club and Short's money Short should have intervened but you saw how Keane reacted when Short questioned him...sadly this is football.
These football experts were earning millions a year out of our club but many didnt actually live in the area and by all accounts MON was only here 3 days a week! When you see the money spunked by these geniuses on the likes of Fletcher, Graham, Pappy, Kirchoff, Borini to name a few with zero or very little return and you were putting your hard earned cash into something like this who can blame Short for being disillusioned.
We shouldnt buy the rubbish from these people that Short didnt back them...Short did back them but they wasted the money.
Of course we dont know what will happen but I think its refreshing seeing Grayson...he genuinely wants to be here, seems committed and whilst the team by default hasnt the quality we once had at least we now have a team that actually tries...Im actually looking forward to games again.
Point 2 -Occasionally.![]()
Aye cant argue with that.I can't understand how people think Short hasn't put is hand in his pocket. He's never played in the premier league. Most certainly still need McCormack, today is a great result against one of the teams that should be near the top but McCormack is a fantastic player and is a better choice than both Grab and Vaughan.
In all honestly a loan deal might be great for is too, he's getting on a bit and doesn't seem to cut it in the Prem, so if we did go up we just send him back.
Aye cant argue with that.
We need to look at the likes of Bournemouth and Burnley to see that we need to build a nucleus of a team in this division that is fit and organised and when we do go up we use the premier legue money wisely to buy the extra bit of quality.
Need to word this carefully but I think watching the mags at the minute is actually how not to get promotion if you know what I mean.
Still need a striker. Vaughan, to me will be ideal coming on last 20 mins, thats it.

With the FSW in a fettle its not a happy ship. Long may it continue.Agree with all this, especially the bolded bit. They got £80 mil in sales and spunked £50mil of it on players who were never going to be good enough for them in the Prem. They probably only needed a few permanents and could have used the loan market a lot more and still got promotion. Thankfully they never did that though and now have a fairly big squad of players, need to sell to buy and are going to struggle shifting players on. I think that's great personally, long may Hanley get paid there.
Should have had him instead of Vaughan.Would take glen Murray
