Can't see us having much overseas presence in this era of austerity. Thing is though you only need to get one right to set your club up for years. That Dembele who Barca have been quoted €150m for only cost them €13m a year ago.....the rewards are huge if you can get it right. That Brazilian lad Watford have just signed could be an interesting one over the next year or two.

indeed, but what you have just shown their is, provided the scouting is good, we could shop in the european leagues, sign a few on cheep money, and sell on at a massive profit.. basically southampton, but if we need to start with british players first so be it.

Calling a block who has put north of £100m into SAFC a parasite and you call me a tit. :)
What a sad man you are. You are either a mag or a wum but you aint a Sunderland supporter.
How much has he took out that we know nothing about, believe me, he would have sold in the summer if things were that bad, he'll get his fair share.

Look at it this way, he has put in money, no one will disagree with that, but he has also had a high turn over of managerial and playing staff as well as the odd backroom staff, now ask why are we losing money.

1, Putting his trust in staff after Quinn who had no idea what was going on.
2, Brought in a DOF model which was supposed to get us the best type of player for money, it caused division between manager, players and boardroom staff, bought players for numbers rather than quality.
3. Selling players for far less than the value they were worth, example Kaboul.
4, Limited resources for managers, post Bruce, example, scouting of a players ability attitude etc.. resulting in managerial departures on bad terms.
5, Failing to appoint suitable successors to previous management.
6, Failing to oversee the whole operation until it was unrecoverable.
Yes he has backed the managers, unfortunately it was with a lapse attitude.

Don't know about parasite, but short, as a football club owner, is certainly a failure.

Just noticed the date you joined this board. We were pretty much mathematically certain to drop, and the scum looked like getting promotion.
You almost got away with your deception...mag.
I'm not surprised you'd think that, considering you're an absolute imbecile. Anyone that's been on here the last few weeks will have seen I've been posting daily. Always optimistic, always backing the lads, always trying to gee everyone up before a game.

If you'd bothered to log on recently you'd know this, or even just bothered to check my post history. Obviously you haven't, hence your stupid remark.

In the immortal words of Vinny Jones... You been using shit for toothpaste, Tone?

Been the case all summer.

We've really put the effort in the last two games and that's excellent, but I worry that if we don't have a goalscorer in the team, frustration and doubt could to eat away at that will and effort.

Grabbon has shown flashes. He might still come good. Vaughan is a very hard and committed team player... but his shooting has been very poor.

We still need that finisher. But then, in this division, doesn't everyone?

Give it up pal. You've been rumbled. Get yourself back to skunkers where you belong.

So what... we buy some 30yr old has-been for 10m who we then can't get rid of so sell him for 2, making an £8m loss. Not to mention that a 10m striker will want 60k a week.

We can't afford it. End of.

I'd rather give the younguns a chance.
Agreed. Now is the perfect time to play Maja and Asoro. They can be alternated/rotated so as not to burn them out.

If not now, when?

Except they are not good enough, so that's not a solution.

Supposedly football experts were paid very good money to make decisions on player recruitment. The majority were overwhelmly supported by the fans at their time of appointment. Everything is easy by hindsight.

Managers like Bruce and notes saying they weren't backed is just them looking for excuses for their failings. Did short have a gun to Bruce's head when he wanted to sign Gardner, Vaughan etc etc or notes with papy and Gibson?

Of course short has made mistakes but only fools and idiots bite the hand that feeds.

"Made mistakes" :eek::eek::eek:

He's failed.

Under him we've dropped a division, and the debts increased.
No other way to describe this but "failure"
