So are you suggesting the clause was taken out? I'm sure it was mentioned last season they weren't aware of it which suggests it was there and binding.
Not 100% but sure it was in his improved contract, we could have just let his existing contract ride I suppose but he may well have lost interest even sooner, who knows? Either way if we'd went down the money would have went on paying debt off so wouldn't really affect where we are now as a team.

If he wanted extra money we should have removed that option. He was still tied in for a few years the ball was in our court.

His agent, like Rodwell's tbf are in the top bracket and negotiating with England internationals was clearly something our "people" couldn't do.

Yup, down to player performances and shite managers. If short hadn't gave us money we'd have been relegated 10 years ago.

You know fuckall about football. You should probably take up another sport tbh.
And who sanctioned the spending for said players and the sacking of the managers. Sounds like You know nothing about football.

You sir, are a complete buffoon.

Yeah.
10 consecutive years in the top league in the world. Our best for 60 years.

He really has fucked us up.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Considering where we are now, then yeah he has fucked up, success is measured by progression, where are we now?

And where are we now ? The man is a parasite, who couldn't give a toss about the club. Sooner he's gone the better.
What a clown you are.
First overboard in a lifeboat situation.

That's where you are

Fair weather supporter.

We don't really need your type

Yeah, fair weather, i've only been going 26 year. And its us who don't really need your type, happy seeing their club regress while pulling their pud over a pathetic owner.

Whoever told Defoe he could leave for nowt, should be castrated

Still wouldn't have changed the fact we wouldn't have wanted to or been able to afford his wages and he wouldn't have wanted to stay. It would have meant some more money of debt.

Would take glen Murray

Doubt he'd move up here at that stage of his career given he seems settled on the south coast and would likely get some game time this season, but you never know. I think we need a bit more pace and creativity, but more power and aerial threat along with goals wouldn't go amiss.

If Short hadn't financially backed the managers what would've happened? 1, we'd have been relegated long ago, 2, the fans would have cried "Short out!", and 3, no manager would agree to come.

If you're gonna post on an SAFC football forum you should at least know wtf you're talking about.

If YOU were Short, what would you have done differently? Haway smarty pants. I can't f***ing wait to see your response.
