What a load of complete bullshit. The same load of bullshit that gets spouted out of the civic centre every time there is an election. How long have they been banging on about a new train station and a pedestrian bridge for now. When will the people of Sunderland finally stand up and realise they are just taking the piss out of us all.
Too true, just like when the new bridge was promised, we all know that these things never happen:lol:

The bridge where planning began in 2005, and finally opened in 2018. The road network still isn't completed.

Keel square is a very nice development but what has happened to all of the outside investment that was promised for around it.

With the Vaux site we have a lovely new road and a single building that looks like it was picked out of a catalogue of prefab units (and that still has taken an age to complete). Nearly 20 years that has been empty and that's all we have to show for it. The council have owned it for about 8 years now so blaming Tesco just doesn't wash anymore.

I'm also looking forward to the nondescript box extension to the Bridges.

Progress in this city proceeds at an absolute snails pace. What is promised is never truly realised or delivered and the council are poor at attracting outside investment into the city centre.

So the bridge got built then?

By 2030!!
As most councils in the North East are completely Labour controlled you would imagine schemes like this would progress far quicker.
