Watmore MOM

I'm all for Watmore but, it was a proper dive for the penalty, and the shot took a deflection.

The run he did for the 3rd goal, was what he kept on trying to do against southampton (rather than cross with left foot), but thier full back had sussed him out early on and stopped him doing it.

You keep bringing up his age without considering the fact he's only been at a pro club for couple of seasons, I have my doubts too but just saying he's 22 and should have done more is bollocks.
This. He's a smart lad so it should sink in fast. Some of these 22 year old super stars have been training with top academies since they were 5 year old ffs

So not Motm then?!

YOUNG Duncan dubbed the ginger Messi via the sun dream team. It's great to here the comments from fans around the country on the sun dream team article, praising the lads ability, shame his own fans can't give him the credit he richly deserves.

Seems some don't even to want to give the lad a chance. He's made one bloody league start for us. Different players take different time to develop.

This place makes me sick sometimes, we bemoan signing shit players or players just after a final pay day and we whine about having no youth coming through, yet when one player is coming through, starring in every International fixture he has played in, given recognition by top pro's and managers, breaking into the first team and despite playing in a struggling side at least looking like he wants to make things happen, scores on his Premier League debut but had limited chances since then yet a load of nomark idiots on here claim to know that he will never make it because they played with good players at school that never did.....fuck off, seriously, unless you have some f***ing qualification to back up your so called knowledge of whether a player will make it or not then just shut the fuck up.

For your information, maybe young Duncan hasn't flourished until now because he was intelligent enough to ensure he had a good education before throwing all his eggs in the professional footballer basket, finishing a degree and getting first class honours in economics.

We have been lacking in the youth department for some years but finally there are signs of some good young talent coming through with the likes of Watmore and Gooch especially. But no, lets just decide their futures for them because we think we know best.

Ignore them Karlos. Some right f***ing knackers on here at times.

Cracking post.

I've seen the lad over a few years and haven't really been impressed.
I compared him to Kilbane, hit and run football.

However this lads can't do anymore to secure a start for us, he needs at least 6-7 games to get his head together and get used to this league.
He has potential lots of it, so give him a go.
My only concern is giving the lad the ball in the places he can hurt the other team, or not feeding him at all.
As a defensive midfielder come wide player won't work.
He needs to be receiving the ball in the other half, otherwise play the invisible man ( Rodders)

I'm still unsure if he is good enough for the PL, keep giving him substitute appearances for him to get a feel of the team and the league and if he improves give him a try in the starting XI.

Don't need transforming just a run of games, if we sent him out on loan now til the end of December in the championship that's 9 games he would play. Would do him the world of good

People on here seem to be down on him because he doesn't have the skill of messi ffs. His style reminds me more of Marco tbh and he wasn't the most skilful of players but still one of my favourites of all time. Turns out anywhere near as good that'll do for me.

He hasn't been part time. He studied at the same time . There is a difference

At the very least he has had his concentration split between football and study (it wasn't some sort of mickey mouse sports science degree at a random Poly - this was a first in economics from Manchester/Newcastle unis).
He has himself said that finishing his degree means he can concentrate on his football fully for the first time. Never mind, you know best obv..

McClean technically better :lol::lol::lol::lol:
First touch is ok when receiving the ball and strikes it well. Better crosser and isn't dead on his right side. Watmore can't kick with his left foot and struggled to receive

why the patronising crap?
Maybe the fact that he hasn't concentrated fully is the reason why he hasn't technically got everything he needs . At any professional level you have to absolutely respect and improve daily or you don't get what you want. I actually do know that .
He is a bright rounded seemingly very nice young man who should be admired greatly for his achiemements in life . I just don't think he is goodenough to play in the Premier League and on of that I have an opinion because he plays for Sunderland and I care about that
