Good to see Titus Bramble there supporting the lads.
The Under 16s won 2-1 and the 18s were winning 3-1 I think with about 10 mins to go.
Some cracking players coming through the ranks I must say.
What was the result when those 10 minutes were up?
How did Billy Knott do?
I was told by a scout to keep an eye out for Louis Lang (sp).. was he playing?
Apparently will be in our first team in a couple years, and England regular not long after.
I watched the 16s mate but was keep looking at the 18s game when there was a break in play or an attack.
Micky Lamb got the first, Louis Laing the second from distance and I think it was Billy Knott who got the 3rd with a brilliant piece of skill from the edge of the box. Adam Mitchell made the keeper make a good save and it dropped to Knott on edge who chipped the keeper and 2 defenders trying to get back. Didnt see Forests goal but when I was back inside the AOL one of the stewards said Forest had scored one, dont know when though!
Big fan of Laidler, doesnt half know where the back of the net is and also Mitchell looks a prospect even though both are only 1st year scholars.
The 16s have a very strong group, 2 full backs very good, pacey and good on the ball. 2 centre halfs strong but prone to lapses of concentration. IMO its the midfield which makes the difference in most games, have some very very good players who are all comfortable on the ball, looking forward to watching them make the step up next year where they will start to get spoken about when Bally gets them
The forwards are all something different and Im still to be convinced whether they have what it takes to kick on, not up to the standard that Laidler offered last year but there is a big lad with pace and knows where the net is but has a very bad habit of not releasing the ball and his attitude is questionable as well as his body language when things not going well, to be fair he changed the game today though when he came on. Havent named any of the under 16s as dont think its fair on them with the ages they are at.
Louis Laing been playing central midfield alot this season rather than centre half, scored a beauty from distance today, few times this season he has scored from range, must admit havent saw loads of him as watch the 16s more than the 18s at the moment.
How come you got in to watch mate? thought AOL was of limits.
Anybody can watch the 18s mate
Its only the training midweek thats off limits.
I get to nearly every home game.
Good to know bits like this, cheers for the post.
It has just gone across the soccer saturday printer that Sunderland youths beat Forest 3 0
