Was there a new Watmore song?

It’s also that same group that starts any of the songs that do get going, if they’re quiet then the whole stadium generally is, if you want the more popular songs started then get them started.
 don't take it personal, just giving my opinion. I'm 38 sitting with me 7 year old son in family zone and we join in quite a bit. Hardly going to be starting off chants like I was 15 years ago. It definitely stops the atmosphere even having a chance of getting going, whether you want to believe it or not. Stick to the more traditional chants and there is a better chance more will join in. Until 2 seasons ago I was stood in that block, so know exactly where atmosphere starts, but moved seats when I started taking my son to games.

Personally love "some teachers have a dream" & "we are the S'lun boys" but each to their own
Keep singing them then if you do. Just don't then wonder why everyone else isnt joing in that's all I'm saying.

I’m not taking it personal mate no worries

Just think it’s daft people complaining about the songs that are sang without attempting to get the ones they want going but aye, the family sections prob not the place to do that :)

Wasn't that long ago I was shouting me head off, chanting at games none stop following safc. My son loves it and knows loads of chants now and I can see him loving it when he's joing in with his dad singing the same chants. Atmosphere is flat though and has been most the season, even though we're doing well and most are quite happy with things. It's more a frustration than complaining, as I want the sol to be louder and atmosphere better for me me him to join in more thats all. Imo, those types of chants don't help with that is all I'm getting at. Every chant we joined it today, was a chant that's been sang for years at Sunderland. Haway the lads, sunderland boot boys for eg. Out of the "newer" chants, don't worry is canny and very apt for us atm.

I know this is tongue in cheek, but I actually think some trying to be too "creative" is harming the atmosphere at times. I know it's freezing, but the atmosphere is a bit flat. I've moved along a bit to family zone with bairn, so not exactly singing all game myself, although the boy gets into it if it's a chant he knows and no swear words . What I don't think helps with atmosphere, is the persistence with chants like "2 teachers had a dream/16 titles still going strong" or "sunderland boys we're cock of the north". They're a bit shit to say the least and people just aren't going to join in, in any significant numbers. If the atmosphere was good to start with, then maybe, but you can't beat the traditional chants we've sang for years and that has a better chance of creating an atmosphere first. Happens quite a bit, where we have good chance or some decent play and crowd get excited, then chant starts "2 teachers had a dream......" Kills atmosphere and you actually see people look as if to say "not this shit". You wouldn't hear either at an away game for eg.

Rant over anyway  Haway the lads!!!!
Wish it was 16 titles they are singing !
