Was it a penalty?

I already explained to a sufficient degree how it was obviously a penalty. Anyone continuing against that opinion at this point is embarrassing themselve.

Maybe the whining about Maradona will pipe down now after 35 years. After all, Owen's diving for penalties in '98 and '02 were discreetly forgotten about as soon as they happened.

Referees, lino's and even VAR's are human. Humans make mistakes. It's the nature of people and consequently the game. Accepting the rub of the green means also accepting when it goes against you. That's football. That's life.

Very, very soft. There would be national outrage if we had lost to that given the other way. Thought the challenge on Kane was a penalty.

Nope. Anyone saying it was is English at heart.
Bit of a shame really, cause it will be a thing now. Cheating to get to a final. It won't die down.
At least people can stop whining about Maradona.

No it's not, two balls on the pitch and the game should be stopped. The ref even stopped Denmark taking a quick throw in because there was another ball on the pitch.
If someone's about to score a goal and a ball gets rolled onto the pitch at the other end, should play be stopped?

How can people say no. It was decided by VAR  If there was no contact then it wouldn’t have been given
That’s not the role of VAR in the tournament though

if it was clear Sterling dived then it could be overturned but as it was inconclusive no obvious error was made by the ref

was it a pen though, was it shite, not quite Gary Mcallister esque but not far off
