Was it a penalty?

It was harsh but the Danes sat back from 70 mins inviting pressure and inevitably run the risk of these things happening

They'd also got away with a couple and had been niggling and shirt pulling, and it was obvious that England were on top. One of those incidents was going to go England's way, and this one did.

Shows the benefits of being on the front foot attacking the other team's penalty area for long periods

It was never a penalty and I thought we were diving about the pitch most of the night. Who cares you say, but it amused me how much the Media went after Immobile(Italy) and its rather a bit hypocritical from us to at least not admit the truth.

As a fan whose seen my own club suffer from the football gods and I'm merely concerned that we've ridden a lot of luck this tournament and last night was no exception.

Denmark deserves a special mention for orchestrating the huge delay in the middle of the second half during a spell when England had them well on the ropes. I am not saying the Danes did not have an injured player but I certainly think that it came at a very convenient time in the game for them & they made the most of the opportunity they had to keep the player on the pitch and delay the game for a full 5 minutes. As expected it did disrupt England's momentum.

In the end the Danes chucked away the second half of extra time when they reduced themselves to 10 men because they were unable to replace an injured player. This was because their manager had allowed himself to make more tactical subs than England earlier in the game and he paid the price for it. If Southgate had done that there would have been "hell on". England ended the game with one unused sub which was as it should be.

The penalty may have been soft but it was examined on VAR and still given. The Danes were certainly willing to use a bit of gamesmanship when the going became too tough for them. They ended up committing 21 fouls to our 9 which says something. I believe that over all they have little to complain about regarding the outcome of the game.

I don’t think so, although I’ve never run at great pace and been clipped (I think there was some contact), so I don’t know how my body would react if I did.

Plus we should have had a penalty for the foul on Kane and Denmark’s free kick for the goal wasn’t.

I hope that German bloke is referee for the final (Brych or whatever he’s called).

Is there a grey area about contact on the last man on the ball in the penalty area?
The earlier decision was ruled out because it was very clear that our players leg made contact with the Danish player and not the other way around.

The Sterling decision was ruled a penalty because it was much less clear i.e. the contact was a coming together at the same time. But if you dig out the video it clearly shows Sterling's head going down and forward before the contact and he was already off balance when the contact is made and that was his intent i.e. to dive.

Never in a million year was it a penalty, and I really wish I cared about that more as I want to see integrity in the sport I love, but we are in the final and the emotions of that are far outweighing the ones about the pen.

No it was 'ruled a penalty' because it was a penalty.

Couldn't agree more and If I was a danish fan I would have being furious when he made his subs as the team went backwards very fast. I think they're intentionally downed tools for penalties and we probably deserved the goal.

The VAR check seemed very lazy. The referee should have checked the monitor. I do think home pressure affected it. If that was in Copenhagen, or even Rome, I don’t think we get that penalty.

They’re all on Limoncello and carbonara for breakfast.
Possibly.

Still, I think their free kick was soft - surely the ref hasn't seen that from Shaw and it's been a word in the ear? Maguire's yellow very very soft as well. I'd convinced meself that UEFA must have wanted the Danes in the final 'til they gave us that pen.

Shoked that cards were 1 per team.
Mcguire got booked for trying to score a header and another ref would have carded six or seven of them!

Aye, Maguires booking was a shocker like. I liked the fact England tried to win it in extra time, didn't sit back like lots of teams do.

It was definitely soft but the defender catches him rather than Sterling creating the contact which we see a lot of.

I would be furious if that was Walker or Stones making them sort of tackles in the box tbh.

Aye, i think that's the bit that some folk are overlooking.
