Walking Britain's Lost Railways

A big part of my childhood the railway. I lived in the last miners cottage in Horden and saw the Flying Scotsman go by from there. I also lived in the street where Horden's old railway station was. My Dad recalled the Queen coming to Horden Station on her way to some ceremony at Peterlee in the 60s. In the 1970s miners strike I went with me fatha picking coal off the pit yard railway tracks - imagine a risk assessment on that. Horden's Station is on the verge of reopening for anybody that didn't know.
