Waghorn

Pickford was actually very raw when he was given his chance and well supported.

But I agree with your general point about people on here not being patient with the youngsters at the club.

But I think it's different with actual match going fans and the more sensible majority.
Don't think he was tbh. He'd made over 100 loan appearances before he established himself with us.

But there was still a debate about whether he or mannone should play. Think mannone started the season. Ridiculous now in hindsight considering where they both are now.

I'd be gutted if we signed him, big world out there and we go for a lad who wasn't good enough for Rangers and a lad who we let go cause he was crap.

everyone hates a local lad, for some reason.

On the contrary loads of people think because they are local lads they should be given special treatment.

He was a very promising young player but lately at Rangers has proved to be very poor so not for me

Would imo be an absolutely pointless signing given he offers nothing different from what's already here.
Think he'd do okay as the left side of a front three but it looks like we're unlikely to play that way. Not really sure what he'd give us as you say. Certainly not if he's played through the middle.

They were a physical precense which allowed us to play a direct game. Waghorn is a lot like Vaughan, a strong lad who's scored goals in a shite league and will be busy and a handful without scoring many at this level, just like Vaughan. McCormack is a number 9, someone who can potentially grab you 20 goals.

He's not a number 9 at all mate

This for me all day. What's the point in bringing in a plodder like Waghorn. Just going to load our books with average players who aren't good enough to play in the premier league (which should be the clubs target). Might aswell try and bring on some young players
I'm not convinced that Waghorn is championship quality tbh.

Why would we need Waghorn Hugill and McCormack on top of what we already have

If that happened surely Maja and Asoro would be going out on loan

Was part of the best group of young'uns this club has had in decades. Was physically very strong and used to bully most defenders he played at the time but when he encountered men's football found it alot harder hence ending up in Scotland. Was annoyed more of his group weren't given more 1st team opportunity's at the time (Bruce) but think his time has passed where we are concerned.

Luscombe was by far the most talented of the bunch but he preferred pies and beer to footy

Waghorn is f***ing dire, local lad or not he simply isn't up to it.

We should go for Louis Molt if we're looking at cheap SPL strikers, scored just short of 1 in every 2 games for Motherwell and they only want £500,000 or something for him.

All about opinions mate. Piss biscuit was the best for me and a lot of the lads who used to stand with at the reserves but Jordan went on to prove he was the best playing 1st team football. The state Luscombe allowed himself to get into was a digrace but he had suffered 2 terrible knee ligament injuries and maybe he just decided to toss it in. Mate was speaking to Bally one time and was told he came from a terrible background and it was a struggle to keep him straight all the way through his junior career.
