Waghorn

They were a physical precense which allowed us to play a direct game. Waghorn is a lot like Vaughan, a strong lad who's scored goals in a shite league and will be busy and a handful without scoring many at this level, just like Vaughan. McCormack is a number 9, someone who can potentially grab you 20 goals.
Have you ever seen him play? He's what seems to be described as a number 10 nowadays. A poor mans Dalglish/Beadesley/Bergkamp who knows where the goal is. He drops deep looking for the ball. I saw him playing for Fulham regularly and he never led the line. He knitted everything together for em between Parker and whoever played as the out n out forward which was Celtics Dembele a couple of times.

Depending on the fee, it could be a decent signing. 12 goals for Leicester when he was given a good run at this level.

This. Assuming the fee was next to nothing and he's willing to work I'm ok w/ it. It's a long season and Vaughn has a history w/ injury. Maja will get his opportunities but if Grayson wants hard working/pressing forwards he will need bodies. Hope McCormack is still a possibility too. Prefer asoro to be loaned out.

Strange board this, last season the club/manager got grief for not bringing anyone in to support Defoe other than an obviously unfit Anichebe, this season it appears that Grayson is making sure we aren't left short come injuries and suspensions and he/the club get grief?

everyone hates a local lad, for some reason.

What a strange thing to say. Everyone loved pickford. Because he was local, and class.

not everyone, but he was more popular than henderson or pissbiscuit or many others.

bit different though when a player has proved himself as class rather than just actually backing them when they are young and still developing.

What's weird about this is that I remember people complaining about signing Welbeck holding back Waghorn. Now, signing Waghorn is holding back Maja/Asoro.

Pickford was actually very raw when he was given his chance and well supported.

But I agree with your general point about people on here not being patient with the youngsters at the club.

But I think it's different with actual match going fans and the more sensible majority.

No. Mcormack plays as a number 10. Nowhere has he ever been a target man. As for Vaughan, he spent all game on his arse looking for a free kick.
