Are the opening posts jokes or are you being serious?

I'm not here to gloat at all, in-fact, far from it. The questionnaire was something which was started prior to our opening fixture against Liverpool so the suggestion that I'm here to gloat is far from the truth.

I was actually expecting to catch you in a decent mood after today's victory but obviously I was wrong!

All the good lads amongst us actually went to the game!

hi,

as a moderator on www.westbrom.com we run a weekly view from the opposition where i ask you a set of question and you respond with your answers. Later on this week i shall form an article with a selection of replies and post the article into this topic later on this week.

Apologies to the admin of the site if this is breaking any forum rules. Any replies are appreciated.

1. What are your opinions on the start sunderland have made to the season? unexpectedly slow but hopefully the win at fulham will kick-start our season.

2. What are your opinions on the start wba have made to the season?not overly surprised to be honest, yous are looked a solid side for the past couple of seasons however i didn't expect you to be doing this well.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is martin o'neill the right man to take sunderland forward?yes and i think it is too early to be thinking of any other options, o'neill is in for the long haul imo

4. What are your opinions on wba as a football club alongside it's supporters?west brom are a very well run club and no one can underestimate the job clarke has done there this season.

5. What are you expecting from sunderland from the remainder of the season? hopefully push on from here and finish in the top half of the table and with some luck have a decent cup run.

6. Where do you reckon wba will finish and do we have a chance of europe? although you are sitting in a champions league spot after 1/3 of the season, i think your squad just isn't quite strong/big enough to finish in the top 6. The likes of liverpool, everton, tottenham will all be up there. If you can keep everyone fit though, who knows?

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems? fletcher really has been a breath of fresh air for sunderland, not just with his goals but his general play has been excellent. Also you will find it hard to score against mignolet, he has been immense for us. Shane long has looked very dangerous and will no doubt cause problems.

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening? screaming for a creative midfielder, someone to pull the strings

9. What side is martin o'neill likely to choose on saturday?
mig, bardsely, o'shea, cuellar, rose.. Larsson, cattermole, gardner, johnson.. Sess.. Fletcher

10. And finally, score predictions.
having only scored and conceded 3 goals at home this season i'm going for 1-1.

thanks

and here's to an entertaining game!

haway the lads

Hope the lad hasnt been scared off. Some right tossers dived on this thread from the off making sunderland fans look like complete bellends (again).

These threads are not anything new either. Weve had them before, so why abuse him? Like he said its a new thing they are doing and not just cos they are doing well..

Hopefully they will see its just a few dickheads on here (cant help that with the size of the forums, it will attract more loons). Some of their fans were quick to judge ALL sunderland fans also mind from the few numpties on here.

Hopefully mods have given them a nice time out, looks like tiger might have judging by his post on their forum :)

I agree with you, apart from History, trophies won, support and ground size

I'm confused. So our ground is bigger therefor our crowds, but how does the fact they have won more trophies since the end of ww2 make us the bigger club?

one of them can't understand our 'arrogance' in saying we should get long and mulumbu. how about the fact we're a bigger club.

This thread is embarrassing. I'm not arsed what WBA fans think of us, but to any reading this, we're not all like some tits on here.

Something about internet forums that breed dickheads. I've always been proud of us being decent, not like the mags, arrogant pricks for no reason.

Still some canny replies on this thread like, just some sad bastards.

Still hope we beat the bastards on Saturday:)

I know.
They've been in ten fa cup finals, won the league a couple of times, the league cup too, and some of this since the 50's. We've got a proud history, but since the f***ing war have won the fa cup in 73.

Yet cos we fill 80 percent of our bigger stadium some think we're the bigger club.
What sort of crowds do you think the baggies would get this season if they had a 48k stadium.

1 league title + 5 Fa cups + 1 league cup = 7 trophies for WBA. 6 league titles + 2 fa cups = 8 trophies for SAFC.

Ah yes, all those trophies we won in the 1800's and early 1900's.
We're truly the bigger club

It isn't about who's the bigger club. For the record, I think we're the bigger club.

They're a decent sized club, but I've never minded WBA, decent club, good team and canny fans. I like this forum and love our fans, but we have some right idiots on this forum at times.

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?
I find it alarming how utterly turgid we have been this season. Our creative players have all struggled for form and confidence at the same time which hasn't helped.

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?
Quietly and efficiently gone about their business. Can't really comment much more because they've not really been on TV much over here this season.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
I think we need a couple more months to work out if this is just a blip or whether there's something intrinsically wrong with MON's defensive, counter-attacking football.

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
Seems to me like a proper football club in the heart of the community.

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
The customary disappointment, hope, disappointment combo. We won't be relegated but, based on the season so far, it won't be pretty.

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
Mid-table obscurity.

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
If the good Sesssegnon and Johnson turn up they can cause a lot of problems. Danny Rose has had a decent start to his Sunderland career, and Fletcher doesn't need too many chances to score (luckily for us).

For you, Zoltan Gera (from memory) has a bad habit of scoring against us. I'm a big fan of Shane Long and his tireless running. It seems to me like you can't switch off for a second against him.

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
Another goal threat would be nice. Whether that comes from midfield or from an effective back-up/partner for Fletcher, I don't know.

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
Probably exactly the same as the last one.

10. And finally, score predictions.
1-1

Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?
very sluggish
2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?
your team have made a very fast start but would be suprised if you can keep it going .that said you have to be happy with your start .
3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
i hope so if mon cant do it then nobody can i think we are a cursed club .
4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
decent club and fans
5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
to get up the table as quick as poss so we dont get sucked into an R fight and an FA cup run would be nice after last seasons no show in the quater final replay at the sol .
6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
between 12th & 9th
7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
the mig , fletch , catts . your full 11 your a team flying at the minute
8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
a ball playing midfielder though there aint many top quality ones kicking about
9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
the team that won at Fulham barring injuries
10. And finally, score predictions.
3- 2 safc now that we have found out other players can score but a verytough game
Thanks >>>>>>> no problem

And here's to an entertaining game!

a tough game on sat but i think the lads can take confidence after our first away 3 points of the season .

whats the problem then?? it's called the food chain man. we should be buying players from the likes of west brom, norwich and swansea. just like man utd, liverpool and arsenal is a step up from us and the mags. it's the natural order.

Eh?

The problem is some dickheads on this thread. Most replies have been good, because we're a good set of fans. Most fans I see say every Sunderland fan they've met is canny as owt.

Just sad, when some idiots ruin it by acting like sad twats. Every club has them tbh. That's all I was saying.

Winning cups before I was born is irrelevant. The whole history argument is tedious, especially when it's between us and them.

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?
We haven't performed very well at all, but we just had a very good result at Fulham, even if they had 10 men. We played well against Everton and were unlucky. Hopefully we can kick on from now

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?
Excellent start, I can see yous doing what Newcastle did last season. Lukaku looks very good

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
Yes, definitely

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
Decent club with good supporters. Don't mind you at all. Good away game, especially when I go to the Vine
5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
8th-12th
6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
5th-9th, most likely around 7th.
7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
Fletcher, Johnson and Cattermole is very good.
Long and Morrison, Odemwingie

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
RB and CM, especially CM to play alongside Catts
9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
The same side as the Fulham game
10. And finally, score predictions.
2-1 Sunderland
Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!

There you go mate.
