Met some great Brom lads at Glasgow Sheriffs court after the play off game. We couldnt believe their crack about the 1996 game at Roker, said they had loads of grief
cracking bunch of lads

West brom are definately my favourite midlands team.
Canny supporters IMHO.

Someone of here used to do something similair a few yrs ago (ask other fans their views before we played them)
I always enjoyed it. I presume other fans didn't act like we did in replying.

I appreciate there are good and bad in all sets of supporters mate. Thank you to the decent supporters which replied and I shall send them the finished article through PM. I was asked to go to a Sunderland away game with a few of my Sunderland supporting mates but I'll give that a miss. The abuse was un-called for.

But Liam, get a grip man!
Don't let some wums on a message board get to you!

Most safc fans I know like the baggies!

Best of luck for the season (bar the 2 matches against us)

Strange set of remarks however I can understand some peoples reaction.
A bit like someone you vaguely know winning the lottery and then coming up to you to chat about their new car and asking how your vauxhall corsa's going (nowt wrong with a corsa like!) knowing full well the answers to most of questions (What do you think of my Lamborghini? What do you think of your corsa? Is the corsa the right car for you?) Last year when they had a Toyota Carolla nowt was said! I image the lad is about 20 and wants to show how proud of his team he is.

You look like a very decent side who could finish top 7-8 this season. Watched your lot against the mags and you battered them, how you lost that game i'll never know.
West Brom have a shite record up here. They have never done particularly well. Wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if they came a cropper on Saturday.

They probably gave one of the worst performances at the SOL the other seaosn when we hammered them 4 v 0 (?). They were shocking that day and were lucky that we didnt put 6 past them (just like 1977).

Fuck off you (unt :-D

Joking mate, like West Brom fans, but we'll 'do' you this weekend :)

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?

Not great, not as bad as people are making out. We don't seem to get any benefit from a pre-season so don't hit the ground running. We're not as bad as some on here make out. Some good results at home against teams at the bottom would make things look better. If our game against Reading hadn't been called off and we'd won, we'd be in 11th place.

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?

I personally like seeing a less fashionable club like yours (or ours) giving the usual high flyers a bloody nose. It's a long season though and you'll do well to keep it up.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?

I think he's as good as we're going to get, I want him to have 3 seasons minimum to see what he can do.

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?

I've always thought you're ok because you don't seem to have the arrogance of Villa or the nastiness of City. To be honest you're a bit anonymous (as I'm sure we are to your fans). I once bucked a lass from Sandwell, which was nice.

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?

I don't really expect us to get relegated so I wouldn't be satisfied with mere survival, but we wont get near a top 10 place. 12th to 14th and maybe not getting beat in the 3rd round of the proper cup by a lower league side would do me.

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?

Like I said you're doing well and that's a good thing as it gives all mid-table clubs hope, but I think Everton, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs will get past you before May. 8th or 9th would be a good season for you surely?

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?

I don't really know your team too well, but Johnson and Sessegnon seem to be starting to play at last, and Fletcher is always a danger. Some of our counter attacking is quite good to watch if they're up for it.

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?

Someone creative in the middle and another decent goal scorer would probably get us out of danger.

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?

Same as Saturday

10. And finally, score predictions.

One of us will win 2-1, I don't know which one though.

Thanks

You're welcome

And here's to an entertaining game!

And here's to liberal minded birds from the West Midlands

Here you go.

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?

Slow start to say the least. Very little attacking threat but the defence has looked decent. Hopefully yesterday's win can inspire a turnaround.

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?

Cracking start. Good attacking threat built on a solid defence.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?

Absolutely.

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?

Always had time for West Brom. Never going to break the bank financially but have made some shrewd signings the past few years. Seem to have a decent support, realistic about what the team can achieve.

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?

To finish as high as possible. Another good F.A. Cup run would be great.

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?

Top ten if the start of the season is a good indication. With a bit of luck with injuries then why not?

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?

Fletcher and Rose. Morrison and Long.

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?

Centre Midfield. We desperately lack a creative midfielder.

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?

Same as Fulham. Maybe Gardner replacing Colback.

10. And finally, score predictions.

1-1

Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!

There you go.

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?
Not very good.
2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?
Very good.
3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
Yes.
4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
Good.
5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
Better results and a great finish.
6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
mid table. yes.
7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
Cattermole. Sess. Fletch. Rose. - don't know who plays for you.
8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
yes
9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
same as yesterday.
10. And finally, score predictions.
5 nil to us.

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?

Crap. We look like a team of strangers most of the time. The only bright spots have been Rose (sign him up) and Mignolet

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?

Really impressive. I doubt you'll finish quite as high as you are now, but if you finish lower than 8th I'd be suprised.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
Yes, well he's about the only one who can. Who else could we get if we got rid?
4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
Canny bunch of fairly knowledgeable fans in the few dealings I've had with them. Boing Boing makes you sound like idiots, like.
5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
Improving to mid-table obscurity.
6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
7th/8th
7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
I reckon Johnson might just have another good game, and if you aren't aware of Flectcher now, you never will be.
8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
RB, CB, CM, Striker. Other than that, we're mint.
9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
Unchanged from Fulham
10. And finally, score predictions.
1-1

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?

Slow start some bad performances, but points on the board and played more away than at home and think we have turned the corner beating Fulham.

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?

Surprised, Thought Clarke would take you down as a number 2 making the step up to manager does not often work out, but respect to him he seems to be doing a great job.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?

Definitely, he is buying in quality, Johnson and Fletcher have been great buys.

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?

I dont mind West Brom, Frank Skinner supports West Brom and think West Brom Supporters decent enough.

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?

To climb the table at best top 8 at worst top 10, coupled with a FA Cup run as O'Neil likes the cups so will play strong sides.

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?

dont know depth of your squad, so depends on what injuries and suspensions you pick up to important players, at present your 4th I think so barring a decimation of your squad think you will finish top 8.

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?

Johnson, quality and Sess, has not been at the races and while never did much produced a pearler against Fulham, so my 3 would be Fletcher, Johnson and Sess.

Long and Odimwengie (apologies if spelt wrong) dont know enough about your team but they look good players.

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?

Right back, Bardsley useless, also a good Centre Forward, Bent and Jones maybe available

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?

Similar to Fulham, except think may play Gardener in midfield as opposed to Colback.

10. And finally, score predictions.

Sunderland 2 West Brom 1

Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!

I hope so best of luck for the season but not on Saturday

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?
Shite would be an understatement, hopefully yesterday's win can spur us on.
2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?
Polar opposite to ours.
3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
Yes
4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
I like West Brom fans, they seem a good bunch who despite being shit recently still get good support (sort of like a West Country version of us). In the same vein as Wolves fans really (sorry)
5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
Mid-table mediocrity
6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
I imagine you'll slip eventually, hopefully starting against us ;) anywhere from 14th to 7th.
7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
Most of your team appears to be on form at the moment; Morrison, Long and Brunt will probably be the most likely to cause us problems. It depends on which of our players fancy playing but Mignolet is on fire at the moment as is Rose and Cattermole.
8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
A playmaker.
9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
Same as Fulham probably.
10. And finally, score predictions.
Being optimistic and 1-0 Sunderland... More likely either a draw or away win though
Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!
We don't do entertaining.

They do the same thing every week, regardless of their league position.

Some of the replies on here have been disgusting.

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?
Not the best, but we have played a lot of away games compared to most. Hopefully we turned a corner yesterday and can start picking up wins

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?
Very good, was expecting you to struggle a little but it hasn't happened

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
Yes definitely, we need stability and give him the time to build over next few years

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
No problem with WBA, decent club and fans

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
Wanted top 10 finish and a cup run this year, and thats still possible

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
Top 10 would be a good finish for you, i can't see you getting Europe this season

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
Fletcher, Johnson & Sess if they play like they are capable of doing, Mignolet. Long is a danger imo

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
Central midfield, someone to play alongside Cattermole. Maybe another striker if possible too

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
Same as yesterday

10. And finally, score predictions.
2-1 to us, but a very tight game

Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!

Good luck for the season after this weekend

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?

Bit disappointed, but hopefully the win at Fulham will lift everyone

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?

Very good. A bit unexpected. Most clubs are where you'd expect them to be but WBA surprised me. Long and Odemwingie been good. Lukaku has been the surprise

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?

Questions were being asked for the first time before Fulham win.

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?

Reputation for good football. Not the biggest of clubs, but a friendly one

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?

Mid-table at best. more likely hovering above the bottom 6. FA Cup run maybe. We got close last season.

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?

Top half, but short of Europe. You do have a chance though. In part because the more usual names aren't doing so well. Will WBA play so well against the poorer teams, and in the 2nd half of the season, other teams may take you more seriously if you are still doing well. I definitely think we sometimes benefit from teams not playing as hard as they would against a top 6 side.

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?

Look out for AJ and Sessegnon. They don't get the ball much, but are able to do something in a moment. Our centre-backs are poor. We don't concede many goals, but that's because we don't attack much as a team. If the centre-backs get exposed one for one, we will be in trouble. Odemwingie, Long and Lukaku all worry me

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?

For Sunderland we need a central defender and creative midfielder. I think may just need cover, but I don't know enough about your squad.

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?

Picks itself. There aren't many arguments among fans about who should play and whose missing out

10. And finally, score predictions.

Sunderland 2-1 WBA. We've had a few false dawns before so I'm not that confident

...

Hi,

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?
Very disappointing, struggling to create many opportunties, and too many players not pulling their weight.

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?
Very impressive - some excellent results and Clarke seems to have things well drilled.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
Yes.

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
As a club you rarely capture my imagination. Your most recognizable celebrity fan is Frank Skinner, and he is a complete knobhead.

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
Inconsistency and frustration.

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
Somewhere around 9th or 10th, no chance of Europe.

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
Cattermole has been the impetus driving many of our better moments - he has a reckless side but he is a very good footballer - a fact usually neglected by the mainstream media and rival supporters. Johnson has been showing more of the form we expected. Fletcher will usually take chances coming his way.
From your team, Odemwingie and Long against O'Shea terrify me.

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
Centre midfield and a striker who will score 30 goals a season :)

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
Same as this weekend, possibly with Gardner in for Colback.

10. And finally, score predictions.
2-0 home win.

Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!
