Are the opening posts jokes or are you being serious?

I'm not here to gloat at all, in-fact, far from it. The questionnaire was something which was started prior to our opening fixture against Liverpool so the suggestion that I'm here to gloat is far from the truth.

I was actually expecting to catch you in a decent mood after today's victory but obviously I was wrong!

Liam, this site is definately not a true reflection of your average safc fan.
It's full of clownshoes and wums
Don't take it personally, most on here try and be as much of a f***ing arsehole as possible
As you've found out.

Also mate it's worth noting that the meldrews on here would complain if we had gone out of the League Cup early doors but won the treble, you really can't win.

I appreciate there are good and bad in all sets of supporters mate. Thank you to the decent supporters which replied and I shall send them the finished article through PM. I was asked to go to a Sunderland away game with a few of my Sunderland supporting mates but I'll give that a miss. The abuse was un-called for.

I don't understand why some of our fans feel the need to show Mag-like tendencies of arrogance and act like arseholes.

Hi,

As a moderator on www.westbrom.com we run a weekly view from the opposition where I ask you a set of question and you respond with your answers. Later on this week I shall form an article with a selection of replies and post the article into this topic later on this week.

Apologies to the admin of the site if this is breaking any forum rules. Any replies are appreciated.

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season? Well below expected

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season? Unbelievable, it reminds me of the time we had Bent and were mixing with the big boys (enjoy it while you can)

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward? 100% YES

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters? Similar recent history to us with the yo-yo club bit so your fans are level headed and the club doesn't try and sell itself as something bigger, so I have a lot of respect for you all

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season? To finish ahead of you lot in a European spot

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe? 7th, missing out on Europe because of us

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems? Depends which sess turns up, Fletcher and Danny Rose. For you guys Long is deadly

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening? We need a creative midfielder

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday? Similar to the Fulham match

10. And finally, score predictions. 2-1 us

Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?
Below par, as par.

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?
A twinge of jealousy, as with Swansea etc. For a few years now we've been spunking the kind of money that your club would love to have, trying to move on into the 5th to 8th bracket of the premiership but seem stagnant in the mid to lower table irrespective of investment.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
I'm starting to think no-one can take Sunderland forward.

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
Indifferent

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
A flirtation with relegation followed by wholesale changes and the promise of a new dawn, regular as clockwork

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
No chance of Europe unless you win a cup, 7th would be an outstanding achievement

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
Simon Mignolet.

I personally think Mulumbu and Morrison would walk into our side and Odemwingie loves playing against Sunderland.

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
1st team in general. Squad to small, no options from the bench

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
Expect one or two from today to be rested. We have QPR at home on the Tuesday which with a small squad, we're bound to have one eye on. Going out on a limb I reckon Johnson and Larsson to be on the bench and a rare cameo from Connor Wickham

10. And finally, score predictions.
2-2

Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!
Agreed, Hope it's more entertaining than the half time show for a change.

Avoiding defeat would be a great result considering our home form of late

Welcome to the self-proclaimed classiest fans it the land . Fuck me, we get questionnaires like this all the time but a WBA fan comes along and does one and he's public enemy number one.:lol:

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?
Very Slow
2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?
Very good
3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
Yes
4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
None and never really seen anything of you to make to stand out from anyone else as a set of fans
5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
Mid-table
6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
All depends on your form after Xmas, teams have kicked on from good starts but then Hull were up there at Xmas once-upon-a-time so don't get too ahead of yourselves
7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
TBH they have all been fairly shit so far but every week I have a feeling one of them is going to spark back to life, but they'd all be the players you were already aware of
8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
CM!!!
9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
Same as today but Gardner back in for Bardsley
10. And finally, score predictions.
You to batter us 1-1
Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!

I don't even think the Stoke fan got as much stick as this! Don't mind West Brom me, built a canny team aswell will be a tough game.

They're white bread, mate, completely inoffensive. Can only put it down to people having a few too many celebrating today's win.

Very tough game. Wish we could build on today's result with QPR before them but we're not Man Utd so we can't pick and choose our fixture list. Would be very happy with a draw.

1. Uninspiring. Our most talented players (Sessegnon and Johnson) haven't really clicked with has led to some dour football. But we're in OK shape.

2. Excellent, fair play to yous.

3. He has a proven track record and has only been in the job 5 minutes, it's tough at the minute but you have to give Managers time. I hope we don't panic.

4. Great away day, your fans are usually good craic and The Vine is a top match day boozer. Very positive opinions about WBA, despite Adrian Chiles.

5. Mid table/top half obscurity.

6. As is the way with these things, you might ride it out and finish 6th or might finish 15th. Injuries and suspensions will determine.

7. An on-form Sessegnon is good enough to trouble anyone.

8. Our 1st eleven stands up to any of the 6th-12th clubs. A top quality central midfielder would be top of the list (we have lots of average ones), but we can't afford one. I hope we don't waste money on more bodies just for the sake of it.

9. Mingolet, Bardsley, Cueller, O'Shea, Rose, Larsson, Colback, Cattermole, Johnson, Sessegnon, Fletcher.

10. All three results possible, we're at home, hopefully take some momentum for the Fulham game and win 2-1.

Why do people think the reaction of tens of people posting anonymously on the internet represent a fan base of thousands?

Fair enough some people were being twats but "oh I've met some sound Sunderland fans but one of them told one of our fans to fuck off on a forum so it looks like they are all dickheads now"?

Get a grip.

Mind this thread is a f***ing mess like. Shameful.

Well done lads.

It is embarrassing. It is not even funny. This is a football message board, someone comes on asking football opinions and gets this response. And we have the nerve to call the mags or liverpool arrogant when we behave like this. Pathetic.

Met some great Brom lads at Glasgow Sheriffs court after the play off game. We couldnt believe their crack about the 1996 game at Roker, said they had loads of grief
cracking bunch of lads

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?

Its been a disappointing start to the season. I think fans are mostly disappointed with the way we have been performing and the lack of an attacking spark. Johnson, Sessegnon and McClean haven't played well at all (They've started to pick up the last couple of games). The positives are that we don't give away too many goals, and also if we give Steven Fletcher a clear cut chance he will usually take it. Lee Cattermole has also been a quality player for us this season we look a lot harder to beat when he plays and despite his constant bad reputation from the media, he's done a lot of growing up and he looks like developing into a good player.

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?

An outstanding start, a surprise appointment in Steve Clarke but he clearly knows what he's doing and seems to have made the transition from coach to manager seamlessly. Great result for WBA against Chelsea last week. Always liked Odemwingie and Long seems to get better with time, Lukaku is also a fantastic young player.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?

I think he is. It has been a rough few months for him however, things haven't exactly fallen into place just yet but I'm staying positive and saying they will.

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?

Always liked WBA since they had SuperKev similar in many ways to SAFC over the past decade with the 'yoyo' tag attached to us. The supporters were good when i went to the Hawthorns a couple of seasons ago, but was disappointed with the lack of support last season at the sol!

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?

Not entirely sure what to expect, it could go either way. Hopefully the result against Fulham will kick start our season and we can progress nicely (never usually the case with SAFC) Think Johnson, Sess and McClean have to get better and hopefully we can get into the top half again.

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?

I think it will rely heavily on who WBA sign in the window. Think a couple of injuries could possibly cut into the squad but the starting 11 is strong I'll say 7th or 8th

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?

Steven Fletcher will be the main threat. He is a constant threat for the opposition and if we have the ball in the final third he can make some very intelligent runs. His all round play is exceptional and he links the play up nicely too, Johnson and Sessegnon can have their say too, but he is the man to watch.

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?

I would like to see him add an attack-minded centre midfielder to partner Lee Cattermole, as I think we are sometimes too reliant on our wing play to create chances. I rate Victor Wanyama from Celtic, but after his performances against Barcelona it seems a few other clubs might like him too, but someone in that kind of role. A right back to replace Bardsley would be good too.

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?

Mignolet, Bardsley, Rose, O'Shea, Cuellar, Cattermole. Colback, Larsson, Johnson, Sessegnon, Fletcher

10. And finally, score predictions.

Think it will be a little more difficult at home with us having to take the game to WBA and I'm pretty sure Steve Clarke will know we're not free scoring so will look to set up compact and hit us on the break, I'll say a 1-1 draw

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season? Awful. The team lacks direction and have not really gelled at all. Must do better.

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season? Surprising. But Clarke was obviously a very good organiser from his time at Chelsea.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward? No question, although the man has been living on reputation these past few weeks. a defeat yesterday would have seen a few questions being asked.

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters? Proper football club; always liked the Baggies.

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season? To get their act together!

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe? Probably just on/outside the top 6. Its a Marathon not a Sprint. ;)

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems? Ours are all useless, so none ;). Morrison and Long.

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening? CM; need a forward-driving MF to play alongside Cattermole; we have too many defensive MF in there atm.

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday? Same as vs Fulham.

10. And finally, score predictions. I'll take the draw now!

Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!

Heres to an SAFC win!
