Hi,

As a moderator on www.westbrom.com we run a weekly view from the opposition where I ask you a set of question and you respond with your answers. Later on this week I shall form an article with a selection of replies and post the article into this topic later on this week.

Apologies to the admin of the site if this is breaking any forum rules. Any replies are appreciated.

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?

10. And finally, score predictions.

Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!

1. Slow but hopefully following today we can kick on and get the season started properly.

2. Steve Clarke has got you lot playing really well, home record is tremendous, entertaining football to watch.

3. MON is the right man to take us forward definitely, it takes time to build squads, he's only had 2 transfer windows.

4. I like West Brom as a club personally, I like the Hawthorns as a ground, the fans have always been decent before and after games when I've been there for matches.

5. A solid top half finish for us hopefully.

6. I think you lot will be top half also, Europe may be a stretch though because you haven't got a massive squad.

7. By today's viewing, Sess and Adam Johnson have come alive a bit, those 2 plus Fletcher and Mignolet.
Shane Long has started well this season, your midfield is strong as well, Mulumbu and Morrison in particular.

8. We need a creative centre mid badly.

9. I would expect us to be unchanged after how we played today.

10. You've started well, I hope we are starting to find some form, my heart says Sunderland 2-1, my head says score draw.

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?

Mixed feelings. The points tally isn't too bad but we have been lucky that the opposition have had players sent off in 4 of our games. The football is dire and we have some very average players. On the plus side, Fletcher looks £12m well spent, we have one of the best goalkeeping talents in Europe and the defence is generally solid enough.

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?
Long, Mulumbu, Lukaku, Odemwingie and Morrison would all walk into our team. You lot have some fantastic players

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?
Well, we'll stick with him for now anyway

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?
Don't really think about them. WBA is an unoffensive club that never really achieves anything to catch the eyes apart from your form this season so far... no offence, just calling it as I see it

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?
Survival is the primary aim. I think the majority of neutrals would say mid to upper-bottom half (would snap hands off for that now)

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?
Absolutely no danger of relegation anyway. Comfortably top 10

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?
Fletcher obviously because he's a crafty, clinical bugger. Look out for set pieces because Seb Larsson can deliver a mean free kick (does fuck all else though). Adam Johnson did well today so maybe him too, albeit he had more space against 10 men and has been quite poor in every other game.

Most concerned about Shane Long, he looks the type of player O'Shea/Cuellar have trouble with (athletic, pacy, good in air)

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?
Central midfield is a huge, huge problem area. A right winger and a central defender with pace would be nice too

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?
Mignolet

Bardsley - O'Shea - Cuellar - Rose

Larsson - Cattermole - Colback - Johnson
Sessegnon
Fletcher
10. And finally, score predictions.
1-1
Thanks

And here's to an entertaining game!

Can't be arsed to answer the questionnaire as I've had too many to read that many words. Always like the baggies though, best midland club. Hope we buck you all ower next week though.

1. What are your opinions on the start Sunderland have made to the season?

Mainly garbage but we've ground out a few results. Hopefully turned a corner today.

2. What are your opinions on the start WBA have made to the season?

Punching above your weight at present. Clarke has been a shrewd appointment and as a team you look strong.

3. You've made a slow start to the season, is Martin O'Neill the right man to take Sunderland forward?

Yes I have no doubts whatsoever

4. What are your opinions on WBA as a football club alongside it's supporters?

I prefer you to Villa and Birmingham but don't take much notice really.

5. What are you expecting from Sunderland from the remainder of the season?

Hopefully have a good run in the FA cup and finish top half. Realistically we'll probably finish about 13th I'll settle for some stability.

6. Where do you reckon WBA will finish and do we have a chance of Europe?

8th but if the Mags can do it then you can. Everton look strong this year...

7. What players in your team should we look out for, and who in our team do you reckon will give you the most problems?

Positives this year have been Mignolet, Rose and Fletcher, Johnson looks as if he's finding his feet now.

8. January is looming, is there any particular position which needs strengthening?

Central midfield should be a priority.

9. What side is Martin O'Neill likely to choose on Saturday?

Barring injuries we should be unchanged from today.

10. And finally, score predictions?

1-1 Fletcher, Odemwingie

Are you familiar with The Pinching or Sandwich Theorem? I ask this question because I am attempting to work out why you have chosen to post on here. I an attempt to solve my curiosity and as a motivation let us consider the following function:-

When x get closer to 0, the function fails to have a limit. So we are not able to use the basic properties discussed in my curiosity. But I know that this function is bounded by -1 and by 1. The answer, therefore, is that you probably do not know yourself so might I suggest that you prepare for a drubbing this weekend.

So, what's your promised view?

Are the opening posts jokes or are you being serious?

I'm not here to gloat at all, in-fact, far from it. The questionnaire was something which was started prior to our opening fixture against Liverpool so the suggestion that I'm here to gloat is far from the truth.

I was actually expecting to catch you in a decent mood after today's victory but obviously I was wrong!
Welcome to PF. We always know how to make our guests feel at home ;)

Can't be arsed to answer questions tonight but I'm happy that they are doing well. Had a respect for their fans ever since the bought several thousand up to Roker Park in the 90's for their final away game that season (lilo's, blow-up dolls, beach balls - generally good craic in and outside of Roker Park). They've always been pretty decent when I've been down there place too. Their club and fans are similar to ours, we've certainly both had our disappointments in the PL as we've yo-yo'ed between the leagues. My favourite midlands club by far.
