Very Very lucky to get a point tonight!

Cahill is amazing, he'd improve our team so much. We lack any attacking threat from central midfield, I'm sorry but I'd sell Henderson if it means we'll sign an attacking midfielder.

Can't exactly work out what Henderson does. Central midfielder yet doen't tackle

definitely a good point and a very fortunate one

some people still twisting after the match though

do you say fortunate becos of Beckfords miss?

Well if so we missed 30 seconds earlier and it was a stone wall corner

So beckfords miss wucny=t av come aboutr

settle for a point agianst all recognised prem sides

Referee lost us two gilt-edged chances when he pulled us back for a freekick like.

PTR's right though, it was a dingdong game and no mistake, pip pip.

That's hard on Henderson, who has been a bit out of sorts in the last few games for us. He's only twenty remember. Do agree to a point about the tackling, but that may come with time. What he does very very well, is keep the ball, find a player. He gives it away very very rarely, and I know that is one of the conrerstones of Keane's philosophies as a player - and he wasn't a bad midfielder. He had a bit more of a tackle on him than Hendo to be fair :)

Agreed a Cahill type player would be wonderful for us, but there aren't too many around as good as he is at what he does. He's also a massive cock :)

Wellbeck's younger than him and is patently natural for the role he's got. Then I look at Henderson and I still can't see exactly where he screams out to be - box to box? Attacking? Defensive? Centre? Wide? That worries me.

Maybe it's a coaching problem, maybe it's just harder for a young midfielder, I dunno. Though I saw Gazza play at 18 and 19, and there was no doubt there.

some are made to play in a certain position, others take time to develop. the way i see it we have a young player with excellent potential who, due to not being in a frantic battle against relegation as usual, we can bring through without a ridiculous burden of pressure or fear of defeat. i think in the next couple of years he will become more of an attacking central player a la lampard, but noone knows for sure really.

I agree! As the game neared the end, i was happy to get out with a point! I don't think our midfield won the 2nd ball all night! Only other negatives were Anton..very, shaky performance, and Steed's shooting from the edge of the box.

We are not going to play excellent every game, so when we are under par, it's important to pick points up. So, all in all, staying positive, and can't wait for Wolves on saturday!

And Gordons handling/kicking/decision making

just over a third through the league and 7th and 20 points. Unbeaten at home.

More than happy

Absolutely. We are looking far more assured this season and becoming very hard to beat. We can certainly afford draws at home against Everton, Arsenal and Man Utd, so long as we beat the likes of West Ham, Wolves, West Brom etc. Despite the Chelsea result we are still very much work in progress and will probably have to wait until next season to see some of these draws turned into wins.

I enjoyed the game. Either team could have won . Or lost. Sounds like a draw was right.

Lucky in what way? Everton missed a great chance late on. So did we.

It seems as usual that people are judging things solely on the result. We played better than against Stoke or Villa.

Comparing cheese and carpet.

It was probably a decent game for the neutral. By no means a classy display, there was too much head tennis in midfied, but plenty of effort by both sides.

Based on recent performances, before the game I predicted a tight 2-1 to us, but at the end I was happy to settle for a point.

A draw was certainly no disgrace, as Everton are a really decent experienced side, only lacking a 20 goal striker.

We've got the makings of a canny team, but our achilles heel, as it has been for a lot of the season, is conceding possession far too cheaply.

I fail to see the logic behind Gordon's repeated gormless punts upfield. The odd teaser to the edge of their box is fine, but it's usually meat and drink for a competent centre half.

I'm comparing cheese that obviously belongs in the cheese compartment of the fridge, to carpet that doesn't completely match the living room, bedrooms or hallway.

Great position to be in after a tough run of games and the mags debacle.

Good news and bad news on the injury front, I think it's a decent time to be a Sunderland supporter.
