Very good window

It’s looking much more positive.
Definitely.

As you say, we do need pace in the team, and maybe a quick thinking, midfielder with a bit of guile and energy, to create an effective link up, between midfield and our attack.

The right pieces of the puzzle, are gradually falling into place.

Pretty much all the areas of concern from last season addressed and Ross looks to be recruiting some strong characters too. On top of that McGeady and Mclaughlin signed new deals and the likes of Embleton also penned new deal.

Just as importantly though we have moved on

Catts, Love, Ruiter, Matthews, Oviedo (hopefully).

That is all those on Prem money now gone barring Watmore and we look to have recruited well too. Cannot wait till a week on Saturday now.

Haway the Lads.

*doh, need to hang on to J Mac, thought he had signed an extension already.

Wiped 15 goals from our midfield aye cracking window

Only time will tell.

This. When hearing the 100 point target being mentioned I half expected to see us finish the window considerably, inarguably stronger than when last season finished, as that's the easiest way to be confident of getting quite a few more points. Instead it's been an evolution. Whether that will be a good thing or not, only time will tell. Some are desperate to either proclaim the window a great success or a huge let down when it's simply too early to know. Many have never seen the players we've signed (other than in friendlies, or in games from years gone by when they weren't specifically watching them) so who knows whether they'll be good enough to make an impact and whether Ross will be able to get them playing as a team and finishing teams off.

I won't criticise the window (yet) because we've attracted players that seem to fit in with the culture we're aiming for, and assuming there's been a plan behind their signings you can't really call it until you see the evidence on the pitch, in this league they might well be good enough for promotion. Too early to be saying what a success it is though, other than financially in terms of bringing wages down, we can assess that already, but on the pitch it's an absolute unknown

Totally agree mate. Nobody can tell whether this transfer window has been a success or failure at this stage. Time will be the judge of that.

Good post. With the seemingly new formation, we'll have to wait and see if we have the players for it. I think we have (just about) personally but it all hinges on Ross's starting line-up.
We can't have two holding midfielders in that formation, for example as it negates the need for a third centre half.
The wing back position is a bit of a concern as well.
