Very good window

Yup.
This time next month we'll have enough games to see if he's gone a bit more positive.
Also, there's always that slight hope that Grigg and Wyke were just injured last season and will be firing on all cylinders
Fancy him to score a fair few. He's certainly capable

Not sure they were. I appreciate that forums obviously aren't the best place to hear great critique and balanced views, but the consensus seems to be that he's okay, nothing flash. It's hardly inspiring stuff.

Seems a good lad though and at least it sounds like he'll graft.

I think we need some lads who can get about and work hard. I feel like Willis, McLaughlin and Dobson fit the bill. Willis and Dobson better age wise so could get better as well.

Ideally, I think we need another with creative spark. We rely heavily on McGeady, but hopefully Embleton will step up which will help.

LB worries me. Assuming Ovideo goes that will only leave us with Hume. Whilst Hume is good going forward he is weak defending and still has a lot to learn. It would be a really big ask of the lad.
And that's why Ross will play 3 at the back and put Hume in a wingback position. It suits his game more and helps us press teams in their own half..

What you on about mate?

I think you’ve rewritten history there like.

Don't expect him to reply; he has a habit of talking nonsense, getting pulled up on it and then disappearing.

As for the other conversation, if last season is anything to go on, Morgan is much better than Gooch. I know who I'd rather have in my squad.

Yep. It's one thing I don't get about this place. I'm sure some just decide they want a "persona" and are determined to live up to it. How anyone can be massively confident about our signings when hardly anyone has watched any of them play more than 3 or 4 times is beyond me (and to be fair if I watched Millwall I seriously doubt I'd be able to comment on their right back unless he did something spectacularly good or bad). Then you get the opposite who are determined to be negative about every signing and everything the club does. I think in real life most fans want to be positive but sometimes get frustrated and a bit negative, and most will wait and see regarding players they know nowt about before proclaiming a window a success or failure

Spot on mate. Halfway through I feared for you, as you were in danger of being called a fanny by some on here, but you pulled it round at the end ;)

We've not really added any creativity, and that more than anything else is what we were lacking last season. We are desperate for some although how much Ross' tactics hindered that part of our game is hard to tell. He's also changed formation so while he may have addressed some weaknesses he has now created some more, we are very much lacking in wingbacks, especially if Oviedo leaves. McGeady will need to change his best position to accommodate the new formation as he'll need to become a central attacking midfielder. That leaves two central midfield slots for Leadbitter, Power, Honeyman, Dobson, Robson, Mumba and Mcgeouch. We have waaay too many central midfielders which is a massive waste of resources.
Watmore might struggle as well as he's a wide forward and not a centre forward

Squad doesn’t look any stronger to me with the exception of the new forward. No pace or power in cm. Hopefully something clicks and we go on a winning run

Our problem was we never created chances. We’ve not signed anybody who can create chances. We are still in the same position as last season. It’s been a f***ing garbage window when it comes to incomings.

Leadership? :lol:You haven't been watching football for long, have you.
Tbf I'd have went the other way and questioned whether anyone that was questioning his leadership had watched/played football for very long. Plenty of different ways to be a leader, you don't need to be diving in to tackles and screaming nonsense for 90 minutes a game.

Well I certainly hope its been better than the January window where the OP was telling everyone to eat humble pie after the signings we made.

Not to mention he was adamant we were going to 'piss the league' and was happy to put down anyone who thought differently.

Was Loovens not brought in for the sole purpose of coaching / helping the other young players develop their skills? If this is the case I can't imagine he will be on big wages at all and could potentially prove to be invaluable.

Then he should be sacked as our defence was shocking all season. He failed and unless someone can convince me otherwise then he offers us nothing. Whatever his wage, it’s money we could be saving.

We’ve strengthened a number or positions, hardly garbage. We do need that creative spark but there is still time.

Jack Ross is on a hiding to nothing on here like.
A load of players nobody can honestly say they've seen much of if anything. Great window. If they aren't good enough, it's the managers fault as he's shit
