The fact that he comes and gets the ball off the defence instead of standing watching them and waiting for them too hoof the ball forward makes a hell of a difference to the way we play

He was tremendous and it was a throwback to a couple of early performances under O'Neill. problem was when teams got wise they pressured us further up the pitch and singled out Vaughan - he began to look poor and so did we.
Nontheless he was great today.

MON will take some flak for this one, even though none of us actually know the reasons behind Vaughan's exclusion. For all we know, Vaughan might have had recurring niggles during his recovery from the injury (which sidelined him for quite some time), which subsequently prompted MON to take necessary precautions to get Vaughan back to full fitness, and at the same time allow him the time to build some strength. He looked far stronger today than I remembered him. That might be attributed to MON's coaching. I do believe that he rates him; he wouldn't include him otherwise. He's had opportunities to part Vaughan from the club. I hope we'll get to see more of Vaughan in the future.
Why's it taken so long
