The lad might not be the most gifted forward we've had but I've seen few who put more effort in.
Trying too hard in front of goal at the minute.
I don't think he is good enough to be a regular starter if we've got intentions of promotion but will do a job in terms of from the bench.
He could do with fluking one at Bury to settle him down.

Works hard so respect for that we need more people with that attitude. But his touch, positioning and finishing are all awful. Can see already that he is a very mediocre forward and certainly can't be relied on to bag us goals. McCormack definitely needs to hurry if he's coming.

I think he's ok and you need players who get stuck in like him and work at this level and he's strong and caused problems. I'd like to see someone with maybe a bit more pace next to him or him to be used more occasionally though.

He can huff and puff all day long. But it already looks like the lad is not up to the job

I see he was Marco's MotM. That's overdoing it, but he did out in a shift. This is really helpful when it comes to stopping teams playing from the back.

As I've said elsewhere - a lot of hard work in that side last night, can't remember the last time we won so many loose balls, closed down so often and picked up so many deflections. Vaughan's graft (as well as others) played a part in that.

Hopefully he gets one and it settles him.

Have said that before with Altidore and Graham however.

Still fully behind him like

OK so he is no Gary Rowell, but I'll wager he gets 8-12 goals this season, not bad considering what we paid for him.

Give the lad a chance.

any advance on 12 ?

gotta give him time at least he's working hard. Fletcher was a better striker but couldn't be arsed. Thought he made space for himself well and was unlucky with the shot that just went past the post. If he keeps going like he did the goals will come. Can see him getting 15 goals a season.

there you go 15

Works his arse off and puts himself about. Sort of player needed in this league imo
He's not going to be great but for the first time in a long time we have something to hit with long balls. He's not going to win them all but with having people around him we can win a lot of 2nd balls. It's simple and it works. Football has become obsessed with formations and tactics. Fat Sam went back to basics and after a while it worked a treat.

Playing like that, we'd have stayed up last season funnily enough

Think he's got more pace than Graham and a better attitude than Jozy.

As you say, he's here and giving it everything so we support him.

He plays a lot of the game with his back to goal tussling with defenders. There was one occasion he was running towards goal chasing a ball and whilst not really quick he didn't seem slow, which I'd assumed he probably would be.
