Fair play to your team of eleven year olds but they won't be physically strong enough or even allowed to play for safc. So what's your point?
My point is having a forward who runs around a lot isn't what we need - we need someone to put the ball away and / or set up goals. Vaughan will do neither in this league.

Altidore Mk2

Thats crackers.Jesus Christ. The lad has played ONE league game..

Im going to bookmark this.....it will come back and haunt you.
Give your head a shake.

Surely you don't write off a player in the first competitive game.
On about a confidence boost. Still no different to many of our lot.
Give him at least 10 games to make the step up.

Good to see SOMEBODY talking sense.Have a like.

Yeah, I know what you mean ;)

Didnt know she played footy mate ! :D

Calling Vaughan a ****

Really?

No thanks, I'll express my opinion.

Your opinion of course being "supporters are monumental ball bags" for having the audacity of getting behind Vaughan and not slagging him off after 1 game.

Have your own opinion on Vaughan by all means, however don't start slagging off fans who aren't a bell end like yourself. See what I did there?

Ok then "dick head", see what I did there. The lad did put in a decent shift as I mentioned previously, ran his socks off. However over his past 231 appearances his goals ratio is hardly that of a prolific striker, 71 goals, 24 came in league 1 his most prolific season and most likely his level, he scored 14 goals six years ago in the championship for Huddersfield and hasn't done it since. He has a nasty injury record which again worries me. To get anywhere near reaching playoffs, survive you need your front men to be prolific or have the quality to make things happen. He has neither from what I have seen unfortunately, not just one game but previously at Birmingham, Norwich, Palace, Leicester, Derby. I'd love to see him bang in loads of goals and get us back up but he hasn't done it in his career at this level, why would he do it now.

I thought he did well. Seems to me he will be better with the ball to feet, like we did more in the 1st part of the 2nd half. In the 1st half we played a lot of crap high balls onto the heads on their big centre halves, and that's not going to suit him or Grabban. 2nd half we played it through the midfield more, and we looked more effective. As everyone else has said, he worked hard and looks a team player. For less than a million, I think he looks fine - and getting a goal or two would be a real boost to him
