English translation please someone?

Roberge, a central defender who represented the Maritime past three seasons, is very close to becoming enhanced Sunderland, Premier League side. The Gallic defense 25 years that ended contract with the team island, is in England to negotiate the terms of the new contract with the British team.

Having several calls in the portfolio, from Valencia (Spain), Marseille (France), among others, choosing to pursue a career Roberge eventually fall in Premiership.

No Roberge, one of the important parts of the Madeira team this season, Marítimo is already in the market for a defensive player to the axis. Given the output Salin, the Directorate is also in the field trying to recruit an alternative to goal the team next season.

There you go, kind of

The problem most of us have with these overseas players is that we have never seen them play and have to take everything at face value

personally I'll not get excited or disapointed until I've seem him, and any others, play a few games in PL. I think thats sensible others will see me as a negative twat

Totally agree with you.

We've been burnt far too many times with transfers, so i always fear the worst anyway.

Free transfers though i feel are always worth the risk as squad players, if he turns out to be no good, he will still hold a value in Portugal, so should be easy enough to get back whatever money we've invested in him.

I don't understand why you can't grasp the difference between a pre-contract agreement and an actual contract.

You appear to know a lot about football contracts so can you please enlighten us ignorant twats exactly what are FIFA/UEFA/FA rules governing players whose contracts are due to run out and signing for a new club are

All contracts aren't the same, could be all sorts of clauses in. Likely there was one in any pre-contracts we signed to say the transfer wouldn't happen or would be re-negotiated in the event we went down.

So whats your understanding of the Roberge deal then? Has he already signed a pre contract to join us on the 1st of July or is that what is currently being arranged

I understand all that but exactly what are the rules that determine when and why a player can negotiate a pre contract as against a full contract and vice versa and where is this all written down

He had a medical with us at the beginning of May and supposedly signed a pre-contract agreement with us then. That being the case the transfer would be probably be guaranteed as long as we didn't go down.

That Diogo Viana supposedly agreed the same deal too, that he's signed as long as we stayed up.
