The only thing that worries me about him is that he is/has signed for a club that doesn't know which division they will be in next season. Basically, whats his true level?

Do you think we would have signed him without knowing what league we will be in if we didnt think he was up to Premier league standard?

Pretty much ever present in a mid-table team, can't say he ever stood out when I've watched Maritimo. One thing though, he's reasonably pacey and is used to playing a high press, which is good news.

I hope this one is different but to me this is exactly the same sort of "squad filler" player we have signed under every other manager.

A player in his mid 20's that's never really done anything of note that will probably only make half a dozen appearances a year while blocking the development of our youngsters.

We should only be signing players who will go straight into our 1st team or players who are under 21 & can fill in as squad players now but are likely to improve into 1st team players as the current 1st team move on or get old.

Said Vernon Kay was dead for 2 months once.

 I stumbled across one on Joseph Jobs page a few months back.

It said Joseph-desire Job was the reason behind Middlesbroughs high unemployement rates because when he left the football club there was no Jobs left in town.

Regular in a top half team in Portugal, played in Europe, I'll stick my neck out and say he's a better player that Cueller, and he's (so far) the only centre back in the squad next year who isn't nearly finished or never played.

A free transfer with that kind of experience is a good deal for where we're at.

Ladies & gentlemen I give you Phil Babb ;)

Can't say I've ever heard of him to be honest. But let's face it we are gash and for a free transfer he might be worth the punt at replacing ceullar or bramble

If he's good enough to replace Cuellar then OK as that means he'd be part of our 1st 11. If not though I really don't want us going back down the route of signing plodders in their mid 20's as no more than cover that we then can't get off the wage bill when we need the extra wages to sign genuine 1st team quality players.

Firstly, now do you know he's a plodder?

Secondly, we are going to need loads of bodies in, they can't all be for big transfer fees.
