Using MyFitnessPal to track carbs/sugar for diabetes

Been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and while I've used MFP to track calories and lose weight in the past successfully, I was wondering if I can use it to track carbs easily?

I don't know what my carbs/sugar limits/goals will be yet - seeing the specialist on Tuesday. But I imagine it'll be setting the macros or goals or summat - I'm not really familiar with that side as I've only ever used it for straightforward calories.

Any tips?

yes, go to 'goals' - 'calorie & nutrition goals' and set your carb limit in grams. You can also go into 'additional nutrient goals' and set your sugar limit.

To view how many you've had, go to the bottom of your daily screen, into 'nutrition' in there put the slider to 'nutrients' and you'll see how your days macro's have been split (in grams)

I only seem to be able to put %carbs other than grams but that's fine, as long as I stick to my calorie goals I suppose.

Cheers.
