US Fighter Jet Crashes into North Sea

Is a pilot relieved of their duty if they crash/ditch/eject?
Like, is it 1 crash and you're not allowed back in the cockpit again, or are they back flying ASAP?
Genuine question

Two of my three got killed unfortunately (didn't have zero zero seats) but the fella who got out and lived flew again.

If you eject safely you get a tie from Martin-Baker who make the seats.

I see! Thanks for the info.
And sorry to hear of your friends/colleagues too.
the military spend a load of money training them so theyre regarded very valuable assets

That was part of why I was asking - seemed a bit harsh to have 1 strike and out.

One of the formation made it back with a cracked canopy. Sounds like they might have clipped each other.

I ended up on crash guard for the F15 that boffed in near Spalding about 5 years ago, the pilot managed to eject that time. 3 weeks on 24 hour shifts living in a tent and eating compo rations. Never again, thanks.

For the thick as pig shit amongst us, what does that even mean?
