He isn't a new player. I can forgive poor performances if I see something there, but I don't, along with many other Sunderland fans.

He's made the same number of starts as Altidore. Do you think it's fair if people judge Altidore on what he's done so far?

Ji has had decent opportunities to impress and has very, very rarely done so. The fact he couldn't even get a game when we were so awful last season speaks volumes. There may well be a decent player under there but it won't be seen here.
People can judge when they want, fair or not. Altidore has shown that he is a good forward player with quality. Has Ji really ever done that?

Very sad that these 'fans' have nowt better to do than victimise a young lad who is finally getting games and confidence under his belt, after being shunned by two managers. He had a bad game, so what? I have faith he will get better if he keeps getting games.

Besides his off the ball movement, thought he was shite against Southhampton. Gave the ball away in so many dangerous positions and didn't have a clue what to do with it when the pass was on. Maybe nerves or something. Doesn't look like he's ready or ever will be.

Connor came on and for me looked a decent player. Held the ball up, was strong and made moves going forward. Obviously last night wouldn't have done him any harm. It's time he got his chance. Ji, maybe another loan.

Ji has had his chance, various times last season, and also this season,
oh yes he scored the winner against city but hes still garbage and he is as weak as water
it was offside anyway

:lol::lol:

Should we not just all agree on that he is god awful its not hard to see he is ffs.

Personally I'd put it down as his single biggest weakness. As a forward anyway. I've yet to see how he does in midfield or attacking midfield where he's supposed to have done well in Germany. But as a striker, his movement looked confused and he just runs around without much purpose.

He's had moments where his technique has looked pretty good, which is the most important thing I suppose. But I've yet to see much else in his game other than reasonable pace and fitness.

He replaced the non threatening Sess the other day and within minutes he'd made runs into two good positions. His fluffed volley and a header. Inexperienced yes, a headless chicken, no.

He made two standard runs to get on the end of a ball over the top and onto a cross. It's when we're building attacks that he's pottering around running in circles looking confused.

"Standard runs" that put him clear, so bog standard our other forward players weren't making too many. We'll have to agree to differ.

Besides, the fact that two managers haven't fancied him speaks volumes. Even at our most desperate times they didn't trust Ji. Di Canio shows a bit of faith in him and he performs like that last night. Against a League One team too.

Those 2 managers both rated Bardsley, both rated Danny Graham and both got sacked for failure. Di Canio rates him and has turned down bids. That also speaks volumes.

When given a chance in Germany he excelled. He hasn't been given a chance in England.
