That's your opinion. IMO His movement off the ball is one of his strengths.

Personally I'd put it down as his single biggest weakness. As a forward anyway. I've yet to see how he does in midfield or attacking midfield where he's supposed to have done well in Germany. But as a striker, his movement looked confused and he just runs around without much purpose.

He's had moments where his technique has looked pretty good, which is the most important thing I suppose. But I've yet to see much else in his game other than reasonable pace and fitness.

Whilst I'm not particularly a fan he has done more than sess this season and yet he gets criticised whilst people are much keener to ignore the others lack of effort

Have generally advocated him getting a chance and pleased that he is, he was poor last night and I'm not confident he will cut it but pleased to hear the manager supporting him. I was embarrassed at the crowd reaction when he was taken off.

I'm in. I first must confess that I have been a skeptical of him in the past but no more. His movement and first touch are exquisite and far better than anyone elses in our team. His passing and vision are very good. His balance and footwork is fantastic and it gives him the ability to make deft movements to beat a man. He looks comfortable on either foot and could play in a number of positions for us. I think he will fill the role just off the striker admirably and once our players are used to playing with him, they will benefit from his presence in the team massively.
Dear me his first touch is far better than anyone else's in our team, his balance and footwork is fantastic.:lol::lol::lol::lol::neutral::lol::lol::lol:

I'm in for this fan club stuff. Ji has been a good soldier and servant of the club. He's also produced some real quality, even if he hasn't been afforded the opportunity to really settle in (impatience of fans & coaches). You don't hear about him vandalizing cars or partying until exhaustion when he has training the next day (or at all, really).

All of this "he's not good enough" business is nonsense. He's shown that he's good enough and just appears to have some confidence problems (which can be overcome). Most of the cons that get tossed about him are things like "He's too easily muscled off the ball" or "He looks aimless" seem to be poorly thought out criticisms. He's not Drogba and any expectations of him being a battering ram or even just a traditionally heftier English-Style Striker seem massively unreasonable.

The lad's never been good enough. Bollocks to potential, he hasn't the physical, technical or mental attributes to play at this level.

Cannot believe we've turned down £4m for him

Yeah but what's his potential ability? Is it over 160 coz he might turn into a handy player in a couple of years time if you have the right training schedule. Get a grip.

Champions League runners up always want to sign crap players. Get rid. Don't give the lad a chance. I know he's young and only played about 10 games in this country in about 2 years but fuck it, he's obviously shite.

Every time he plays in a Sunderland shirt he looks like a headless chicken.
The Dortmund officials must have been pissed if they made an offer for him.

Over 160? Precisely what are ye on about you clown?

You seriously believe Dortmund wanted to sign him? They've got Lewandowski and Aubyemang for christ's sake. Let's keep hoying him on the pitch and hoping at some point in his career that he shows a smidgen of talent and then we can say "Wew he's the next Drogba this kid"

How many games has he started? Will you judge our new players on the same amount of game time?
He's shite man. I've tried to give him a chance and have even defended him in the past, but he's awful. I keep hearing about this touch and vision yet I never see it. Fair enough, he set up Altidore on Saturday. That's about it. He's missed a few sitters in his time too which have been costly. He isn't cut out for Sunderland.

How come you aggressively defend Di Canio but can't gt behind our players with similar enthusiasm. Ji deserves your support too. :)[DOUBLEPOST=1377700857][/DOUBLEPOST]

Will you be judging all of our new players on the back of 3 starts?

Remember Ji haters, there was a time Spurs never won a game when Gareth Bale started for them.
And look at him now, maybe in a few years we'll have our own ball greedy, diving fucka in Ji ;)

As someone said on here a few days ago, he looks like a kid playing against a bunch of adults down the park. Would love for him to come good but he looks hopelessly out of his depth IMO.

He isn't a new player. I can forgive poor performances if I see something there, but I don't, along with many other Sunderland fans.[DOUBLEPOST=1377700969][/DOUBLEPOST]

He looks like he's never even seen a football.
