I hope he finds a club where his talent will shine soon. Championship etc, And I mean this most sincerely

Both our ball retention and goal threat seem to have suffered when Ji and Wickham have been introduced as substitutes in the last two games. They need to work on their awareness and teamworking.

However, we don't watch them in training, so they hopefully have something and maybe they'll show some promise on Tuesday.

Looking forward to Tuesday's game......i would like to see the likes of Ji, Wickham, Vaughan, Ba, Karlsson, Diakite, Roberge etc given a proper run out.

Jiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Worra Load of shite.

There's a lot to like about the lad but it's that time on the ball he looks for and won't get in the PL and a lack of composure in front of goal.......both can be taught though and i'm more than happy to have him on the bench as he does offer the potential to change a game.

I think his weaknesses can be improved with training, game time and familiarity with his team mates/tactics though. Movement and first touch are much harder to teach and those things come naturally to him. I think he can do well here.

Thanks for the polite reply's and honest opinions.. Refreshing change to some of the threads i see on hear. :)

why is everyone fannying about on this thread?
ji is awful, no where near good enough for premier league standard.
yesterday he was useless, his attempts were weak as piss and what pissed me off the most was his work rate was about 40%, the lazy useless bastard.

Way to sit on the fence mate!!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I know it's ludicrously ambitious but £4m for Ji plus £8m for Sess would only leave us about £3m short of going for Hernandez....we would be a right handful with Hernandez, Fletcher and Altidore as our choice of strikers.

Don't matter how good your strikers are if you've no fucker to supply them with any sort of service.

Like I said on another thread, Ji is a quality player and linked up with AJ much better than Sess. AJ was huffing and puffing in the first half. Second half there was some good interplay. Ji won a few headers from the punts upfield, which is more than I remember AJ doing.

All of what you say is true but he's tactically naive.....two or three times yesterday he was caught in possession and i watched him a few times strolling back when Southampton players were well within his reach.....what happened to this superior fitness and pressing we were supposed to be implementing.....Wickham's another one.....f***ing bone idle that lad.

Lack of game time.

Ji can score from both feet. He has scored against all competition including EPL, Bundesliga, Olympics, World Cup and the K-League. He is only 22 and and his only weakness is his lack of strength whioch he can build in the next year or 2 years time. His passing , aware of space is better than any of our FW players. His lack of respect and people saying he is shite is from MON supporters who thinks the same. Absolutly clueless! Ji will come through for sure if given the chance and so will CW. Patience my fellow supporters..patience.

He's shite. He won't make it in this country. He plays the game far too slowly. Once he receives the ball, he takes an age to get his head up and release it. I lost count of the times he held onto it for too long and then got embarrassingly brushed aside on Saturday. Poor player.

If anyone is interested, ship him out and put the money towards a centre midfielder.

Think it's more important to play Josy against a team he might just look capable of scoring against.

Can't afford to...if he get's injured we're fucked (again). Anyway he's had chances aplenty in all his games....he just lacks composure for whatever reason.[DOUBLEPOST=1377499470][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you've noticed that (and i think most of us have to be fair) don't you think management have. Connor Wickham has developed an excellent physique these last 18 months or so but unfortunately that's all he seems to have developed. His technique, alertness and football brain still lag far behind what's needed. Ji has many attributes but i'm starting to think they may be best suited to playing in a different league.....he's not going to get the time on the ball he seems to need in the PL.

Ji is a talented footballer. He has a variety of skills that are required for his position. He never stops working to find space. He is comfortable and composed on the ball. He seems genuinely two-footed and can generate shot power in both feet. He doesn't panic in front of goal as evidenced v Man City from a 'cold start' off the bench. He is good in the air and this will be more evident as he gets game time and grows in confidence. Some of his one touch lay offs are superb and he has great vision when passing the ball; the one touch through ball played between Wickham and Jozy on Saturday was class but made to look crap by those two who just stood there asleep. Although few can say for sure, he seems to be an earnest, hardworking lad too and obviously mentality is so important for young players.

Weaknesses like holding on to the ball too long can be altered relatively easily with game time and coaching. I'm not convinced his perceived lack of strength is a major issue either. He needs to adjust to the English game, develop better balance and start shielding the ball more effectively rather than turning into his man. There are plenty of examples of slender, small players doing very well in the Premier League.

Comments like 'Ji is shit' are not constructive for anyone (cue numerous hilarious responses stating said comment). It doesn't even make interesting reading and surely that's why many visit this board? Fair play to those who criticise Ji and explain their reasoning.

He's a young lad who has had very little game time. He's come from a completely different footballing culture and country. For the critics of Ji - imagine if you at 20 year old were dumped in a very different country on your own where you struggled to even talk to people and expected to start performing immediately in the strongest league in the world? FFS give him time, lets see how he develops; we've persevered with much worse players than him in the past!
