Universal Studios UK theme park

Universal Studios had plans for a UK park in the late 90s. They had the plan's in place and site and were going to start construction but it never happened. They were going to use a place called Leavesome Studios and include themes such as Robin Hood and Peter Pan. Sounds like it would have been awesome.

That's where Harry Potter (and some James Bond) films are made. Its now a Harry Potter attraction, just outside Watford. We went a few months back, it's very good.

Paramount have been touting around Europe to get funding for a major Theme Park of the Disneyland/Universal Studios ilk for years now. They were quite through with the plans for one in Southern Spain (30 mins from our appartment, which would have been sodding ideal), but the finance didn't come through so they pulled the plug.
They're currently going through the same process in a London-ish park plan.

We share the same language and watch all of the American films. Whenever Disney or universal release a movie after the states box office ours always comes second but they ignore us.

I wish they would ignore us.

The Japanese and so on get massive movie theme parks and they don't even speak the same language.

We live closer to a Disneyland than most Americans.

Love Universal and Islands of Adventure in Florida, amazing theme parks.

Rip Ride Rockit, Spiderman 3d, Transformers, The Hulk, Dudley Do Right Falls, f***ing mint man. Way better than anything disney can offer

It wouldn’t work in the UK. We don’t have the same weather, or customer service, the yanks have
They’ll not be employing Brits marra.
It’s ower Ebbsfleet/Gravesend way. Couple of the lads at our firm out there are keeping their fingers crossed, get on that site and they’ll save £100+ a week in train fares for starters. Get kept on maintenance wise and it could be a job for life.
