Man utd dont have ultras and i like them the most.

Re: Your question. Why do other sets of supporters care? I take pride out of others being in awe of anything Sunderland. Going to a game and having our lot completely outsing the opposition fans is good in my book (lets face it, we cant get on the pitch and help so might as well do our bit off it). Used to love it in the SWC, away fans looking sick as chips as our lot wouldnt shut up, even when they had just scored. Others on here must care too cos you get people quoting other sets of fans about our support (City fans saying we sounded like jets taking off when Ji scored, West Ham fans saying it felt like they were pushed back in their seats and that they wished Upton Park made noise like us in the 2-2 game etc).

And Man U said we were shit at home and almost silent. Why give a fuck what they think. It doesn't affect your enjoyment on the day! I remember when we were moving away fans there were a whole load of the little ultra bucknuts saying it'd look better. It seems you young scrotes are obsessed how things look! The whole Ultras culture is the logical extension of that imo.

LOOK AT ME! AREN'T I GREAT!

This

I actually liked it better the old way with the SWC being next to the away fans.

Yet this place had a daily thread saying how shit the SWC was. Do you think this place just likes to moan for the sake of it?

It was Ellis Short who wanted the away fans shifting, and he made it happen. And it does look better having a full lower bowl rather than 14 wigan fans tbf.

Oh and gerrin havent been called young for years!

It was much better with the away fans down below like. Shame some fans took to f***ing that up by suggesting the move. :(

The threads were mainly about disproving the assertion that the SWC were the best supporters SAFC had ever had and putting you in your place.

Bollocks

Away fans should have went into the south east Corner.

Away fans should be as far away from the pitch as possible. Glad to see the back of the days they were right at the front urging their team on, screaming at the ref for decisions and giving our players shit. If you need opposing fans near you to sing for your team then you need to have a word with yasell....

Saying all that, id change my mind if a rule was brought in where every ground had to put the away fans behind one of the goals in the lower tier cos at least that would make everyone even.

the swc was unreal when there was a big away following in the south stand, but i'd say pretty much 14/15 games a season theres less than 1000 travelling away fans and it looked awful.

the new set up is much better now.

When you think about it, the North Standers totally fucked us over and let us down. They said the SWC sang cos they were next to the away fans. So the club acted. Those singers in the SWC stayed, they had a singing section set up in the South stand for more singers and by moving the aways next to the North Standers, they would all sing too (cos ya know, they said you sing if ya next to away fans). So that would be three sections of the ground making a noise. Instead, the North Stand (which is our home end) have gone against their own theory and sit there letting the away fans royally take the piss. Ellis must feel very let down :(

Agreed.
Also, simple maths tells you if the South Stand was full (and all singing) it would easily overpower the SWC. due to numbers.

Classy. I'm almost convinced but only almost.

You're from Ashington, ginger I believe and suffer from split allegiences. Yet you also feel you matter somehow.

Thought someone on here said it was in consultation with a select group of home fans n'arl.

It's brilliant as they and the kopites are one of the same, a few decent fans but outnumbered by a vast amount of glory hunting bellends who have never been to old Trafford/anfield.

When SSN interview fans from the manc/Merseyside clubs you always see fans from city and everton with manc/scouse accents you never get one with the red lot irish and southern accents everywhere
